Yuichi Takayama is one of the supporting characters of Ultraman Gaia. He is Gamu Takayama's father.
Personality[]
As a social worker at the town hall, Yuichi often devotes himself to his work and has a very enthusiastic and proactive attitude in helping others. When crisis strikes, he also shows no hesitation in risking his own safety to save others. His behavior deeply influenced his son Gamu, which can be seen in Gamu's style of action.

Ultraman Gaia[]
After Gamu was admitted to Jonan University, Yuichi and his wife Shigemi continued to live a peaceful life in Chikura, Minamiboso City, Chiba Prefecture. Due to the small size of the town and the lack of social workers, he has never had a break from his community work responsibilities, single-handedly managing the district's community work from the past until now.
During a visit, he rode his bike to visit Tokuzo Takezuka, who lived in the mountains. Since Tokuzo's son had already passed away, he suggested that Tokuzo move to a nursing home. However, when an unusual heat wave hit, Yuichi suffered from heatstroke and briefly lost consciousness. He was helped by Kenji Tabata, who happened to pass by.
When the Enzan appeared and nearby residents were evacuated, Yuichi discovered that Takenaka had not yet evacuated and decided to go up the mountain with Tabata to help him. They attempted to rescue Takenaka, who had already passed out. However, on the way back, the road downhill was blocked by fallen trees. Yuichi, holding on to the spirit of "never giving up", attempted to move the trees despite fatigue and heat exhaustion.
After the trees were moved, Yuichi collapsed due to exhaustion. Fortunately, the three of them were rescued by Ultraman Gaia, who arrived on the scene in time.
Afterwards, Yuichi was safely taken to the hospital for treatment. Gamu visited him and talked about how Yuichi had saved him from drowning in the ocean. While they were sharing a hospital room, Takenaka also expressed to Gamu that he hoped he wouldn't die before his parents. When Zog began to invade Earth, he and Shigemi watched KCB's live broadcast together. After witnessing Ultraman Gaia's defeat in battle, they were shocked to see the moment Gaia transformed back into Gamu, thus learning the truth that their son had been fighting as Ultraman all along.The Cry of the Earth
Afterwards, he and Shigemi made a special trip to Tokyo to see off Gamu in his final battle. Finally, the two of them witnessed Gaia and Agul joining forces to defeat Zog, and Earth finally gained a moment of peace.Earth is Ultraman's Star
