Katsube became an actor for Toho in 1955, frequently appearing in various productions in supporting roles. In special effects films, he often portrayed roles such as journalists or military officers responsible for communication.
In 1976, he retired from the entertainment industry and returned to his hometown to serve as a director of the Shimane Prefecture Tourism Association. In 1992, he founded the Shimane Film Festival and served as the executive chairman of the secretariat.
