Trivia[]
- According to screenwriter Sotaro Hayashi:[1]
- Hayashi initially had no intention of joining the series, but many of the early story ideas felt too similar. Recognizing the absence of action-driven concepts, Takeshi Yagi and director Kengo Kaji recommended that Hayashi write an action-heavy episode if the show required one. This recommendation ultimately brought him onto the project.
- Kaji requested a female guest star and action scenes. Around that time, Hayashi frequently listened to YUI's music, which inspired the idea of an alien girl who plays the guitar. This idea developed into a storyline centered on a love story between the alien girl and an agent.
- Hayashi noted that his teacher, Fumio Ishimori, wrote the "Star of Friendship Forever" for Ultraman Ace. Encouraged by this precedent, Hayashi attempted another story in a similarly dramatic style for the Ultraman Series.
- Although YUI inspired the original concept for the character Natal, Kaji intended the role as an homage to Izumi Sakai of the band ZARD, who passed away in 2007.
- The idea for the character "Agent D" came to Hayashi after reading Ai Ota's "CODE NAME "R"" collection. It made him wonder, "Why not introduce other agents as well?" Initially, he considered naming the character "J," but ultimately chose "D" because it sounded too similar to "Jin."
- The scene in which Vadoryudo is destroyed in a single strike differed from the original description in the script. However, Kaji insisted, "We need to showcase a completely new use for the Eye Slugger," and that idea was used in the final version of the episode.
