Trivia[]
- The episode blends themes of ancient civilization and environmental awareness, particularly marine pollution. Yukari Yoshii, who first appeared in episode 10 "The Bronze Devil", returns to continue her romantic arc with Doigaki. Additionally, the Sea Diver reappears, breaking the usual rule in the series where ocean-themed mecha appear only once.[2]
- Producer Hiroyasu Shibuya noted that the Sea Diver was brought back on purpose this time, and Yoshii's personality made her an ideal character to support the subplot.
- Filming the underwater scenes was particularly challenging, especially the coastal cliff sets seen when Reycura surfaces. The art team worked hard to create realistic, scenic visuals that matched on-location shots. The weather during filming was excellent, and the sunset scenes at the end of the episode were especially beautiful.
