Winning Shot Ultraman Dyna.
is the fifth episode ofSynopsis[]
Asuka's friend, Himuro, a major leaguer, returned to their home country. It had been a long time since they last saw each other, but Himuro, due to an accident during a game, was unable to pitch and was contemplating retirement. Just as Asuka was trying to help him recover, a formidable monster appeared, swiftly deflecting the enemy's attack...!
Plot[]
The Super GUTS members are watching the news on television where they see that America Major League player Himuro Yuusaku has suddenly returned to Japan after a losing streak and is refusing to answer the press as to why he has returned. Mai is revealed to be a big fan of Himuro, and she learns that Asuka was Himuro's high school teammate. The next day, Asuka and Mai head to see Himuro. Asuka recalls the days of playing baseball in high school along with his former teammate. Elsewhere, the kaiju Shieldron is attacking a high energy power plant.
The two find the star alone at a baseball pitch. Asuka notices his old friend's melancholy nature and decides to have a match with him. However it is here that Asuka learns of Himuro's reluctance to the sport: he seemed to deliberately miss each of his throws. Mai asks if the reason for this is because of the controversy stirred by Phoenix News about the dead ball Himuro hit Hubs with. Himuro does not comment, but his silence confirms it. At that moment, Hibiki contacts Asuka and informs him that a kaiju has appeared near a high purity energy pipeline.
Super GUTS attempts to attack the kaiju, but all their attacks are stopped by the tough exoskeleton on Shieldron's forearms. Alpha and Gamma attempt a double-headed attack but this backfires and causes Alpha to crash. Asuka attempts to attack Shieldron on foot but he notices Himuro nearby, so he takes him to safety. Asuka tells that he'll attempt to sneak under the kaiju and attack its underside. Himuro comments on the absurdity of this attack, but is met with Asuka relaying a quote he himself had told Asuka during their youth. This was the wake up call the major leaguer needed.
While Asuka does manage to hit Shieldron, the attack is ineffective and he is forced to transform into Ultraman Dyna to save the energy pipelines. The two scuffle for a while, but Dyna is unable to harm Shieldron because of its plated arms and incredible intuition. Himuro notices that Shieldron is vulnerable to curved attacks, so he calls out to Ultraman Dyna and signals for him to use an energy ball. The first (straight) ball is blocked; but the second ball is a forkball. Strike.
Afterwards, Super GUTS is seen playing a game with Himuro. The major leaguer easily strikes out Asuka on his first throw.
