This article lacks an official name. "Willpower" is simply how it is referred to as, due to the popularity in the fandom or how it's mentioned in-story. |
Some Ultra hosts or Ultras in human form do not use transformation items and instead transform by pure will.
Usage[]
This ability also extends to other Ultras Hosts with transformation items, as they have been shown to activate them by force of will. The advantage of this ability is that the Ultra can transform their host when they do not have the ability to do so themselves, such as the case of falling unconscious.
The fact that Ultraman Hikari used this to transform, when he had temporarily relinquished his transformation item (the Knight Brace to Mebius) implies that all Ultra possess this ability. Even at the end of the series, Ultraman Mebius transformed this way instead of his usual method using the Mebius Brace. This implies this ability is not limited to a few Ultras and transformation items may simply be a thing of convenience.
When Shinya Mizorogi regains his memories of himself being Dark Mephisto and redeems from the darkness, Mizorogi transformed into Dark Mephisto with his willpower by clenching his fist and light particles surrounding him in order to save Ren Senjyu from Dark Mephisto (Zwei).
