V6 was a Japanese boyband formed by Johnny & Associates in 1995. They sang the opening theme to Ultraman Tiga. The group consisted of Masayuki Sakamoto, Yoshihiko Inohara, Gou Morita, Ken Miyake, Junichi Okada and most notably Hiroshi Nagano, who played Daigo Madoka, the protagonist of Tiga.
The group disbanded on November 1, 2021, marking their 26th anniversary.[2][3][4] Among the members, the subunit 20th Century, consisting of Sakamoto, Nagano, and Inohara, has continued performing, while the other subunit, Coming Century, ceased activities with the group’s dissolution.
In 2023, following the sexual abuse scandal involving Johnny & Associates, the agency was renamed SMILE-UP. A year later, SMILE-UP transferred its talent roster, including 20th Century, to the new Starto Entertainment, while SMILE-UP now focuses exclusively on providing reparations for victims of Johnny & Associates' misconduct.
