Ultraseven - Planet of the Earthlings is the second of the NTV Specials of Heisei Ultraseven.
Synopsis[]
On a planet somewhere in space, Ultraseven and Alien Metron's battle is unfolding. After a great struggle, Ultraseven ultimately prevails, but is haunted by Metron's final words: "We are coming for Earth." Back on Earth, a dinosaur appears at Lake Ryugasaki. Furuhashi goes to investigate, but catches sight of Dan Moroboshi instead.
Plot[]
At an unnamed planet, Seven fought against an Alien Metron. In his dying breath, Metron declared that more of his brethren will be targeting Earth.
Meanwhile, a reporter named Shiori voiced her concern regarding the increasing pollution caused by mankind. A massive dinosaur appeared at the Ryugasaki Lake, with police officers try to shoot tranquilizer darts to no avail until the Ultra Guard arrived with the freezing bomb. Dan Moroboshi also happened to be at the scene, but was forced to hide his presence from Furuhashi. With 48 hours left till the dinosaur thawed out, sought the help of Professor Tonezaki, the latter calculating that it was impossible for an already extinct creature to exist in the present era, especially given their preference of different natural environments.
Disguising as police officers, Shiori and Noguchi slip into the forest to take pictures of the dinosaur, but their evidences were wiped away by a pair of suspicious-looking safety officers. The next day, the Ultra Guard and Tonezaki’s scientists were collecting samples of the dinosaur from where it left off. Dan happened to be at the scene as well and was intercepted by a man in black. At the end of his work, Tonezaki was approached by a mysterious woman who claimed the dinosaur to be cloned from a Theropoda family from the Late Jurassic epoch, with the skeleton serving as its DNA template beneath Kitagawa City. She lured Tonezaki to a secret facility beneath the landfill area and the man in black introduced the underground city Ecopolis that the pair had created using trash deposits, running on solar energy as its power source. Tonezaki is required as the final piece for this experiment, as he agreed to keep it secret while in turn erasing the data of the dinosaur’s research.
Posing as students, Risa and Kaji gathered on rumors that the professor suddenly changed after his encounter with a pair of individuals in black. They also apprehended Dan after seeing him, but he escaped by taking advantage of the confusion in mentioning their captain’s name. After presenting the pair with plans for renewable energy plants, they unveil their ozone-destroying missiles to get rid of humans. The pair was never interested with supporting mankind, but to replace them with their race as the new inhabitants of Earth.
Tonezaki was driven with guilt over the upcoming destruction of mankind, but Dan reassured him that he should put his faith in friendship and his love for Earth as his priority. Shiori and Noguchi happened to spot Noguchi disappearing at the landfill, reporting this incident to the Ultra Guard. Tonezaki tried one last time to negotiate with the aliens, going as far as to labelling them as hypocrites for trying to make Earth as a better place while getting rid of mankind and all of life forms on the planet. When the Ultra Guard storm the base, the aliens put Tonezaki as their hostage, but the researcher risked his life by using their own gun to disable the missiles. Dan barged in, ordering the UG members to bring Tonezaki to safety while he handled the fight against the aliens, now revealed as Alien Metrons by assuming into Ultraseven.
The sole surviving Metron bring the fight as giants and even bring along the dinosaur to his aid. The dinosaur was killed in an explosion resulted from the Metron’s own missiles, but it also summoned dark clouds that severed the Ultra from his own power source. Furuhashi launched a missile from the Ultra Hawk to restore sunlight, allowing Seven to once again turn the tides of the battle. Metron’s own death created a series of explosions that took his own base and Seven along with it. Tonezaki apologized to Furuhashi, taking responsibility for his own actions leading to Seven’s death, but Furuhashi remain confident that Seven is still alive elsewhere.
