Ultraseven is an Ultra that appears in The Rise of Ultraman and its sequel The Trials of Ultraman. He is an alien that came to Planet Earth, and merged with Dan Moroboshi when he accidentally destroyed his USP VTOL.
History[]
The Rise of Ultraman[]
When USP agent Dan Moroboshi was tracking an unknown object entering Earth's atmosphere, the object suddenly crashed into his VTOL, destroying it. Moroboshi survived the crash, but was pulled into the glowing giant's red orb and merged with him. He was then presumed dead after going missing.
The consequences for that crash would be felt years later, in the USP's presumption that Ultraman was a dangerous alien, and how Ultraman's distrust of humanity for the presumed death of his brother-in-arms.
While in Limbo, Moroboshi and Ultraseven fought kaiju days on end to survive. After fighting many kaiju and dying over and over again, Seven begins to fade. He says if Dan were able to get out and find the ultras, they may be able to restore him. Seven then vanishes, leaving Moroboshi alone to fend for himself.
After Shin Hayata/Ultraman and the USP freed the monsters of Limbo, Moroboshi would turn up in New Zealand, barely changed from his crash decades ago. The Rise of Ultraman
The Trials of Ultraman[]
Back in the world post opening of the Vault, Dan was captured by a local militant group called the Joint Armed Disclosure Front, a group who hated the USP, on the belief that they had engineered the Kaiju now plaguing the world. Their goal was to force Dan into 'confessing', torturing him until Shin and and Kiki came to his rescue. After Shin transformed into Ultraman, saving him from attempted murder, the group's leader somehow summoned a Kaiju.
After being rescued from the Kaiju, Dan met with Hayata and drained Ultraman's essence out of him, transforming Dan into Ultraseven. The Trials of Ultraman
The Mystery of Ultraseven[]
Now on the loose, Seven hunts down kaiju that were freed from limbo and battles them non-stop. The USP becomes aware of this and goes to investigate. Shin transforms into Ultraman to try to subdue his brother in-arms while fighting two other kaiju.
After the kaiju were defeated, it was a duel between the two Ultras, Seven fought fiercely and without a thought, brutally pummeled his brother. The Monster Attack Team (MAT) intervened and combined their vehicles into Jack to kill Seven. Ultraman sacrifices himself in the process to protect Seven from Jack's Ultra Shot. Jack easily defeats a weakened Seven and forms a glowing blade on its wrist, while Seven lies on the ground. Seven manages to get the upper hand with Jack, freeing himself. Jack strangles Seven and was on the verge of killing him, when Director Kato orders MAT to disengage from the Ultra and fall back. Jack disassembles and MAT makes their way back to base.
Seven, beaten and exhausted, is now vulnerable enough for Shin to get into his mind. Shin convinces Seven to trust him, stating that they can be brothers too. Seven proceeds to de-transform into Moroboshi, ending the fight. Later at MAT's base, Shin gives Moroboshi his remaining Ultra energy, just enough to summon Seven for later. The Mystery of Ultraseven
