Plot[]

Bullton comes to the city to wreak havoc. Fortunately, Ultraman arrives just in time to battle the creature, but the kaiju emits its Space Warping ability mid-battle, preventing any physical or beam attacks from landing. But this is no problem for the giant hero as Ultraman uses throwing moves to inflict damage and disable Bullton's Space Warping barrier. Ultraman is victorious as he defeated the fourth-dimension kaiju with a Specium Beam, and afterwards, he then crushes the two meteor fragments that made up Bullton so it may not return.[1] Later, Ultraman confronts and battles the ancient monster, Gomora, to which the helicopter pilot was shocked to see him revived as he commented that both he's horn and tail have regrown. After a quick battle, Gomora tries to escape, but Ultraman grabs his tail to stop him, which forces Gomora to detach it before burrowing underground. Suddenly, Red King then appears and attacks Ultraman from behind, further shocking the reporters as another old kaiju has been revived. Engaging in a violent battle, Ultraman defeats Red King and emerges victorious as he flies away. Suddenly, a mysterious UFO appears and releases a purple mist on Red King's corpse.[2] Meanwhile, Ultraseven battles Eleking at a dam and manages to defeat the monster. Unfortunately, the purple mist appears again, and it revives Eleking into EX Eleking. Despite the monster's increased power, Ultraseven defeats EX Eleking and flies away. Just as the crimson warrior flies off, the mysterious UFO appears again and then flies away after Seven does.[3]

Later that night, in another city, Ultraman Tiga duels with Kyrieloid. However, Kyrieloid escapes mid-battle, prompting Tiga to chase it to a cave. There, as he is searching for Kyrieloid, Ultraman Tiga instead finds the injured and sleeping Gomora, who awakens and attacks him. After the battle, Tiga decides to spare Gomora and lets the kaiju leave, for the Ultra knows that it was only attacking out of self-defense after being disturbed, thus there was no need to eliminate the kaiju. Suddenly, the weakened Gomora is then cruelly killed by Chaos Kyrieloid, who emerges from the shadows. Though he had evolved into a more powerful form, it proved futile for the fiend as Ultraman Tiga defeated Chaos Kyrieloid, secretly avenged Gomora.[4] The next day in the city, Ultraman Taro fights the rampaging Tyrant, defeating him after a brutal battle. After his victory against his old nemesis, Taro then quickly heads to a volcano to investigate the sudden earthquakes occurring, where he battles with a now revived and enhanced EX Red King, the EX kaiju was then defeated by Taro.[5] Later, Ultraman Cosmos arrives to stop a rampaging Gomora at an industrial complex, who has also been turned into an enhanced kaiju, now dubbed EX Gomora, with a long, extendable tail. Just mid-battle, however, the military attempts to assault and kill EX Gomora, which Cosmos shields the kaiju from the volley of assaults from the tanks, as the compassionate Ultra only wants to calm and heal Gomora. Fortunately, Ultraman Cosmos uses his Full Moon Rect to return Gomora to his original and normal form. Healed and calmed, Gomora then leaves in peace, thanks to Cosmos' kindness.[6]

Elsewhere, Ultraman Gaia appears and battles a revived Bullton at an airport. When Bullton is almost defeated, Ultraman Agul arrives, whom Gaia and the humans believed had come to help, only for the blue giant to suddenly attack Gaia, who realizes this Agul is an evil doppelganger created by Bullton. Gaia fights the imposter, but despite his best efforts, even changing to his Supreme Version, he is easily overpowered. Just as the imposter was about to land the killing blow, the real Ultraman Agul arrived to aid Ultraman Gaia, making short work of the doppelganger with his Photon Screw. Bullton then sucks Gaia to his body. However, Ultraman Gaia manages to defeat Bullton, destroying the monster from the inside.[7] On a minor planet somewhere in space, Ultraman Taro is seen battling the gigantic EX Tyrant, who is now centaurian due to many more kaiju added in. Ultraman No.6 proves victorious, but his victory was short-lived as the vengeful spirits of past, defeated kaiju gather around EX Tyrant's corpse, reviving it into the undead, skeletal EX Tyrant II. After many fights, Taro is having difficulty defeating EX Tyrant II because of its ability to revive itself due to the vengeful spirits. Fortunately, the planet passes the sun, which wards off the evil spirits and negates EX Tyrant's powers. Taro took this chance to end the monster once and for all, laying it to rest. Tyrant is at last defeated, and Taro is victorious, but a mysterious UFO flies away behind him unnoticed by the Ultra.[8] Back on Earth, Ultraman flies to the South Pole and arrives at the Monster Graveyard. There, he finds a half-awakened Geronimon, entrapped in its icy prison, and it is the culprit behind all the revived kaiju. Realizing this, Ultraman goes in to prevent Geronimon from reviving by attacking the ice pillar. However, the monster soon breaks out of the ice and attacks the Ultra. After a long battle, Geronimon dies because of its injuries and is not fully revived, thus ending the plot of revived kaiju.[9]

Meanwhile, Ultraseven is pursuing the mysterious UFO, which was being piloted by Alien Baltan, who is the culprit behind the enhancements of EX Kaiju. Seven successfully destroys the ship and forces Alien Baltan to come out, who knocks the hero out of the sky into the city below, taking the fight on the ground, in which Ultraseven fights and defeats Baltan.[10] Ultraman Cosmos fights Waroga, who soon transforms into Chaos Waroga mid-fight. Cosmos defeats the alien, but after Waroga's defeat, a wormhole appears. Cosmos was then sucked into another dimension by Alien Mefilas for being a nuisance to his plans to invade Earth. Mefilas then traps Cosmos in that dimension and then summons a copy of EX Tyrant to fight, which Cosmos defeats and immediately flies off to get back to Earth.[11] Meanwhile, Mefilas distracts Ultraman long enough for his Chaosroids to wreak havoc on the Land of Light. Both Seven and Taro manage to defeat Chaosroids S and T, retrieving the Ultra Key and the Ultra Bell that they stole. However, Chaosroid U easily overpowers Ultraman. Fortunately, the Plasma Spark gives Ultraman the power to use the Spacium Beam and defeat Chaosroid U.[12]

Back on Earth, Neo Chaos Darkness manages to defeat Ultraman Agul, Gaia, and Tiga. Fortunately, Ultraman Cosmos breaks free from Mefilas' dimension and joins the battle. Cosmos then uses his Luna Extract on Neo Chaos Darkness. However, before he manages to free him from the Chaos Organism, Mefilas fuses completely with Neo Chaos Darkness to create Neo Chaos Darkness II, who plunges the world into darkness. Cosmos changes to his Eclipse mode and fights Neo Chaos Darkness II, but his Cosmium Beam proves to have no effect on the monster, instead enlarging him to twice as tall and heavy and Cosmos. After a long and deadly battle, Cosmos uses his Luna Extract again with all Ultras' powers to use Cosmo Extract. The beam affected Neo Chaos Darkness II and purified it. However, Mefilas still survives, vowing revenge on the Ultras the next time. The Earth is saved once again by the Ultramen.[13]

Trivia[]

  • EX forms are introduced in this video game. They would later reappear in the Ultra Galaxy series, Bandai toyline, and the arcade games Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Coliseum and its sequel.
  • Being the most modern Ultraman at the time, Ultraman Cosmos replaces Ultraman Tiga as the main character in this entry of the FIghting Evolution series.
  • As opposed to the previous game Ultraman Fighting Evolution 3, the character roster has been greatly reduced from 40 to 28. This most likely done to include new elements and characters models for this game.
  • Even though this game has no monsters featured (if not counting Phantom-Ultraman Agul V2) from Ultraman Gaia, some can be seen in the South Pole stage as background characters. (ex: Gan-Q)
  • This was the only time Taro uses his grunts when he flies away after battle in the series as his normal grunts.
