Ultraman Dinas is a purple-colored Ultra who appears in Ultraman Decker Finale: Journey to Beyond. He is in fact Ultraman Decker, whose power is at its incomplete state.

Conception

According to Masayoshi Takesue, Dinas' true identity as Decker's lesser form is comparable to the situation of Ultraman Nexus Anphans to Junis. This is said to be the reason why Dinas lacks the space pattern on his Color Timer, and that the lack of gold coloration is to emphasize the Ultra's immaturity.

Design

Ultraman Dinas is designed by Takahiko Waki as a simplification of Decker's. Dinas is already intended as a male Ultra since the designing stage, but the decision to give him a female host was a late addition. The purple coloration on Dinas is taken into consideration from two factors:

• He inherited some of Ultraman Saga's attribute in a similar manner to Ultraman Zero's Mode Changes to Strong-Corona and Luna-Miracle Modes.
• Also a leftover effect from Ultraman Cosmos Space Corona Mode.

However at the end of the day, Waki dismisses both theories above as his own headcanon and nothing else.

History

Ultraman Decker Finale: Journey to Beyond

After Ultraman Dyna went to Planet Ravie to fight off the invading aliens sent by Gibellus, he gave his light to a woman named Dinas to revive her. Dinas' strong will to protect others reacted with Dyna's light, transforming her into Ultraman Dinas. Using her new powers, Dinas went through the universe fighting against Gibellus, inspired by Dyna's determination. She also eventually learned of Ultraman Decker, who fought against the Spheres on Earth.

Dinas also eventually went to the Earth herself when she found out that Gibellus was planning to invade the planet, fighting off aliens and transforming into Ultraman Dinas to do battle against King Joe, aided by GUTS-Select, and destroyed the enemy robot by using Zetton's power via her Mons Dimension Card. They were then trapped in a subspace field opened by Gibellus where Dinas struggled against Alien Icarus, but eventually manged to defeat it. Afterwards, Dinas faced against Gigalogaiser, who defeated Dinas and GUTS-Select, sending her into a rage when Kanata Asumi was killed inside Terraphaser. Ultimately, Dinas failed to defeat Gigalogaiser after it combined with Gibellus' ship Zorgaus to form Zor-Gigalogaiser.

Giving up her power of light to revive Kanata, Dinas' Ultra Dimension Card combined with the other Dimension Cards the GUTS-Select members possessed, reforming the Ultraman Decker card whose light revived Kanata, allowing him to transform into Decker once more. Profile

Owing to the Ravian's nature as peaceful aliens, Dinas by default is an inept fighter, hence relying on the powers of monsters to make up for what he lacks in unarmed combat.

Body Features

• Color Timer: An oddly-shaped Color Timer, it is placed on the left of his chest. The Color Timer is constantly shining red.
• Protectors: A Protector that covers his chest. It appears as a simplified version that Decker has in his Flash Type, barring the left arm cover.
• Light Crystal: A glowing crystal on his forehead.

Transformation

Dinas summons the Ultra D Flasher and inserts her Dimension Card into the device's midsection. Drawing it towards the front of her face, she shouts her name and transforms into Ultraman Dinas.

Techniques

• Monster Abilities: By proxy of his namesake host scanning the Mons Dimension Cards, Dinas can utilize their powers into his own being.
  • Dinalize Burns : Through Zetton's power, Dinas can shoot the monster's fireball attack at rapid succession.
  • Dinalize Thunder : Through Eleking's power, Dinas can unleash a wave of electricity to his target.
  • Supersonic Crusher Tail : Through Kelbim's power, Dinas conjures a red energy copy of Kelbim's tail to beat his opponent into submission.
  • Fiery Heel Drop: By combining Zetton's One Trillion Degrees Fireball and Kelbim's Ballistic Exclusive Spit , Dinas charges his leg to execute a flame-induced heel drop attack.

Ultra Hero Series Ultraman Dinas is a 14cm soft vinyl figure with 3 points of articulation on the arms and waist. Molded in purple soft vinyl plastic, Dinas features primarily silver, some cream color (eyes), metallic purple (forehead), and metallic red (color timer). Like most UHS 2016 figures, some of his paint operations are omitted.

Trivia

• Despite Takesue comparing Dinas to Nexus Anphans, Dinas' actual situation is more likely leans on the case of Ultraman the Next before his transition to Ultraman Nexus.
