Ultraman Blazar The Live In Taiwan 2023 (超人力霸王舞台劇 ULTRAMAN BLAZAR THE LIVE IN TAIWAN 2023, Chāo rén lì bà wáng wǔ tái jù ULTRAMAN BLAZAR THE LIVE IN TAIWAN 2023)[3] is the third Ultraman stage show held in Taiwan.

It was originally teased with the placeholder title ULTRAMAN NEW HEROS LIVE IN TAIWAN 2023.[4] A ticket giveaway was held by MOMOKids from 19 June to 9 July, 2023.[5]

Synopsis[]

The first part takes place in the World of Ultraman Blazar and follows the members of the newly established SKaRD Taiwan Branch and their anti-kaiju mecha Dash Garon as they rush to prevent an interdimensional catastrophe.

The second part takes place in the World of Trigger and Decker and features the Ultra Heroes in their mission to stop Yapool Rainbow Lotus from taking over the planet before it is too late.

Plot[]

The stage opens with Gento Hiruma greeting the audience through the screen and reminding them of the in-house etiquette before the show begins proper, but Red King and C.O.V. suddenly waltz in uninvited. Seeing this, Gento transforms into Ultraman Blazar, who takes on and defeats the kaiju with ease, before leaving the stage.

First Half[]

In response to an increasing number of kaiju attacks around the globe, the GGF plans to establish the SKaRD Taiwan Branch, and they have selected Chun Mei as its first captain. A selfless leader who puts others before herself, she believes that the team's members are its most important asset and dreams of bringing together those who share her philosophy, but is scrambling to find more members at the moment. Accompanying her is Zanas, the technical consultant and robotics specialist sent by headquarters to assist with the construction of Dash Garon, the unmanned anti-kaiju robot artillery powered by a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence that would make up for the makeshift team's shortage of personnel. We are also introduced to Captain Jinfu of the GGF Taiwan Marine Corps, who is opinionated, headstrong, and appears to be doubtful and cynical about the deployment of Dash Garon.

Nevertheless, the AI still requires some fine-tuning before it is ready for combat. To help, Anri Minami appears on the stage screen and instructs the audience to assist her in teaching Dash Garon proper punches. The audience follows along and the mecha completes its combat training. But the next hurdle to overcome was the system's lack of kaiju-related data due to Dash Garon's (somewhat peculiar) aversion to reading. As surviving an encounter with a kaiju with its current knowledge (or lack thereof) would be nearly impossible, the audience subjects Dash Garon to a kaiju pop quiz until it finally learns and gets the correct answers.

Thanks to the help of the audience, Zanas manages to put the finishing touches on Dash Garon, and it becomes ready for deployment. Suddenly, the shrill sound of a siren fills the base, alerting the crew to a kaiju attack in the heart of Taiwan. Led by Jinfu, the Marine Corps charge into the city to engage Red King, but are met with resistance by a group of aliens. Dash Garon arrives to support the ground forces, deploying its tomahawk axe to deal with Red King. The mecha unleashes its Terra Burst at the kaiju, which causes it to retreat. At the same time, C.O.V. emerges near Tokyo Bay, and Ultraman Blazar steps in to save the day, but the kaiju flees in the direction of Taiwan after a short battle.

As the dust settles, Dash Garon wonders if Jinfu really dislikes the mecha after all. In reality, he is not a cold and heartless person, and it is revealed that he has his own reservations. Everyone sits down to have an open-minded and honest conversation about the role of technology in protecting humanity. Chun Mei and the others agree that technology should not be a liability, that it should make people's lives more convenient, and Jinfu thinks that having a "heart" and strong convictions are most important. Dash Garon feels the same way, and hopes to carry out its duty to protect for as long as it lives.

Just then, a gunshot is heard, and Jinfu falls to the ground, wounded. They trace the gunshot to Zanas, who has betrayed the GGF and is now leading a group of villainous aliens to try and take over Taiwan. Their first goal is to capture Dash Garon, but before Chun Mei can do anything, Jinfu ushers her to escape and specifically tells her not to let Dash Garon do anything stupid. She and the mecha make a hasty retreat as Jinfu desperately holds back the alien forces, but he eventually succumbs to his injuries and collapses. Unfortunately, this allows Zanas to seize control of Dash Garon.

Chun Mei calls out to Dash Garon from the bottom of her heart, telling it to remember its mission, but her passionate speech fails to reach the AI. A warning signal "Interdimensional Catastrophe" flashes on the stage screen, and the Earth faces its greatest crisis yet. Chun Mei then turns to Zanas, pleading with her to fight together with humanity, but Zanas refuses and makes her disdain for the "monkeys" that call themselves humanity known, before leaving.

Teruaki Nagura and Anri arrive to help in the Earth Garon, and the two robot kaiju duke it out in a fierce battle. It ends in Earth Garon's favor as Dash Garon loses its strength and falls to its knees, defeated. However, Red King and C.O.V., along with Satandelos, appear out of nowhere, leaving Earth Garon to fight the kaiju on its own. Jinfu, who miraculously survived, steps into the battlefield and begins cheering for Dash Garon, with the audience following suit. With their words of encouragement and its own convictions, Dash Garon manages to remember its mission, and frees itself from Zanas' control!

Blazar lands in Taiwan, and a 3v3 ensues between the defenders of peace and the wicked kaiju. During the battle, Jinfu finally acknowledges Dash Garon as their ally, and the two share a moment. The heroes work together to defeat the kaiju, and Jinfu apprehends Zanas. But their victory is short-lived, as the "Interdimensional Catastrophe" from before closes in on the planet. Seeing this as something only it can stop, Dash Garon heads straight for the unknown object and crashes into it, sacrificing itself for the greater good.

Even in its final moments, the mecha remained steadfast in its beliefs, and this sudden loss leaves everyone extremely saddened. However, Jinfu refuses to give up, and takes it upon himself to cheer Chun Mei up and offers to join the SKaRD Taiwan Branch. They vow to carry on Dash Garon's will into the future. Earth Garon wraps up its work and returns to Japan, while Blazar takes off into the sky.

Interlude[]

In another universe, the interdimensional demon Yapool Rainbow Lotus and their minions, Vakishim and EX Zetton, face against four Ultras on the Moon. Yapool makes their way to Earth with Mebius and Zero in hot pursuit, while Ace and Z remain to fight the kaiju.

Second Half[]

The story takes place 10 years after the end of Ultraman Decker. Jun Zhe is now the captain of the GUTS-Select Taiwan Branch, and he is accompanied by member Pei En, who sports a ponytail, and Marluru, who was sent by headquarters to continue studying the Ultra-Ancient Infinite ruins in Taiwan.[Note 1] Everyone goes about their day-to-day, but the peace is soon disrupted by the sudden appearance of Strong Gomorant in Chiayi City. GUTS-Select Taiwan mobilizes immediately, and Trigger and Decker soon arrive at the scene. Kengo and Kanata appear on the stage screen and invite the audience to cheer on the warriors of light, and with their support, the Ultras manage to defeat Strong Gomorant.

The GUTS-Select members thank the Ultras for their help and they engage in friendly conversation, but Jun Zhe makes a blunder and unintentionally divulges the true identities of Trigger and Decker, and before he accidentally reveals that he once fought together with Zero as one, Carmeara emerges from the darkness and warns them all of an impending disaster. The screen switches to a satellite image of outer space, where an intense battle between Zero, Mebius, and Yapool Rainbow Lotus is ongoing.

After mercilessly disposing of Zero and Mebius, Yapool makes their grand entrance on Earth, where they take on both Trigger and Decker. Pei En confronts Carmeara and asks her to help the Ultras out, but the Dark Giant appears to have no interest intervening, and instead reminds the audience that it might be a good idea to tap into "the light that defeated Infinite".[Note 1] Jun Zhe recalls how that fateful battle played out, and how he obtained the light of Zero.[Note 2] Meanwhile, Yapool discloses their true objective: to harvest human beings for their diabolical plans. Growing impatient, Yapool summons numerous kaiju to deal with the Ultras. Seeing Trigger in danger, Carmeara finally comes to his aid and evens out the odds. However, the kaiju prove to be too powerful for even the three Ultras to handle, and the heroes begin to fall victim to their relentless attacks, one after another. Eventually, only GUTS-Select is left to stand up to the kaiju menace.

Yapool taunts the GUTS-Select trio and specifically ridicules Marluru by claiming that unlike humans, an alien can never reach for the light. Marluru refuses to listen to this nonsense and believes that they, too, have the light in their heart. Refusing to surrender to violence and holding steadfast to their beliefs, the GUTS-Select members rise to their feet. The cheers of the audience turn into the light, which engulfs the members in its warmth and grants them the strength to fight. In a flash of light, the Ultras miraculously come back to life! Jun Zhe reunites with Zero, Pei En joins forces with Carmeara, Marluru becomes Mebius, and Trigger and Decker are resurrected!

The five Ultra Warriors take on the enemy forces and successfully defeat the kaiju army, but Yapool refuses to concede and summons the ultimate undead Terrible-Monster, U-Killersaurus "Thanos", to get rid of the Ultras once and for all. The heroes struggle at first, but are saved by the arrival of Ultraman Blazar, who followed the interdimensional catastrophe into this universe. Zero turns to the audience for their support, and he manages to summon the Ultimate Aegis with the power of their light. Together, the Ultra Warriors pool their energies into the Ultimate Aegis, allowing Zero to defeat Thanos with the Final Ultimate Zero before Blazar defeats its master Yapool Rainbow Lotus with the Spiral Burrade.

The smoke clears, and the GUTS-Select Taiwan members return to their original forms. They deliver words of gratitude to the audience and exchange some friendly banter, with Carmeara noting that it wasn't a bad experience working together with such a bold woman (Pei En). Afterwards, the heroes bid each other farewell and go their separate ways, but Decker is left dumbfounded as he has no idea how to communicate with his successor, Blazar, who departs for the skies without a word.[6][7]
