The miniseries was hinted by Tsuburaya Productions' Twitter account on the day The Absolute Conspiracy's final episode was aired on YouTube, with said post accompanied by a poster featuring Absolute Tartarus and three other Absolutian silhouettes.[3] At that time, writer Junichiro Ashiki confirmed his participation in the-yet unnamed sequel.[4]
On September 24th 2021, an online event hosted by Tsuburaya Productions on YouTube and Ultraman Connection revealed the miniseries' title, first trailer, new characters and release year.[5][6] According to an interview with Tatsuomi Hamada, producer Daisuke Kanemitsu and Aya Satsuki, the number of appearing characters is expected to be over 100, including the Ultra Warriors, their allies, enemies and all of the characters' Type Changes.[7]
On December 7th, the English dub of a special prologue episode aired during Ultraman Connection Live: Holiday Special.[8] Both the English and Japanese dubs were later uploaded on YouTube on December 27th.[9][10]
On March 29th 2022, a second trailer was uploaded, unveiling more of the characters and cast, the theme song and release dates.[1][11] The miniseries was to air in Japan on TSUBURAYA IMAGINATION across ten weeks starting April 29th,[1] while the English dub would be a rental on Ultraman Connection on May 28th, following a celeboratory online event.[11] The event was later confirmed to occur on May 26th and be free.[12] On May 5th, it was announced that the rental release had been moved to May 26th, immediately after the watch party, and have subtitles in 10 languages.[2] More details on the event were revealed on May 18th.[13][14] The first episode of the English dub was uploaded on YouTube on May 25th in anticipation of the event.[15]
Continuity
The miniseries acts as a sequel to Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy, following up events after the third chapter with Yullian being held captive by Tartarus and his accomplices.[5][6]
With regards to more specific timeline placements, the prologue episode takes place soon after the events of Ultraman Z episode 7, as Ultraman Zero is shown just returning to the Land of Light after escaping from Bullton's dimension and his team up with Z and Geed. Additionally, the Space Science and Technology Bureau is still recovering from Genegarg's assault and its theft of the Ultra Medals.
The remainder takes place at some time between episodes 4 and 6 of Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga, as all three of the Giants of Darkness had awakened, the Absolutians were forming their plot to steal the Eternity Core, and Z's Z Riser was not yet broken from the events of episode 7.

A group of Absolutian soldiers target Lidorias and Cosmos on Planet Juran due to the latter bearing a legendary power, possibly hinting at Ultraman Legend and Ultraman Saga. Cosmos took notice of their hostility and destroyed them even when Lidorias was held hostage by the raiders. Ultraman Zero recaps the entire events of Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy to the audience and begins wondering their ultimate plan in kidnapping Yullian. Exactly after Yullian's kidnapping, the Ultra League regrouped at the Land of Light in order to plan their strategies. Since Genegarg's attack resulted the Space Science Technology Bureau to be decommissioned, they have no other way to analyze the Absolutians' energy composition. Father of Ultra proposes three steps of his plan; 1) finding new recruits of Ultra League with the Tri-Squad overseeing their training, 2) enlisting the Galaxy Rescue Force's help in forming a rescue party for Yullian and 3) the Inter Galactic Defense Force took up the task in tracking the Absolutians' movements and Ribut rejoining the team. Joneus and Mebius assigned to train the recruits of Inter-Galactic Defense Force, with Grigio joining in to hone her strength. Zoffy and Taro on the other hand dispatched to Planet King to meet Ultraman King himself. As Grigio trains with Mebius, Zero returns to the Land of Light to report of Z's current whereabouts and seeks to train with Joneus after his previous defeat with Tartarus. At the Absolute Palace located in The Kingdom's Central Planet, Tartarus explains his race's history to a curious Tregear and confirming their goal to find a new planet with their old home world is at the brink of destruction. Diavolo and Titan arrive and begin squabbling with Belial and Tregear over their presence within the palace, which is considered sacred to the Absolutians, but Tartarus orders them to stop their petty fighting. In Narak, Yullian recognizes the other captive to be Ultraman Regulos, an Ultra from Planet D60 in the constellation of Draco, as well as a practitioner of the Cosmo Beast Phantom Fist. In King Cave of Planet King, Ultraman King decided to prevent the war between Ultras and Absolutians, and assigns the Leo Brothers to Zoffy and Taro. |

Trivia
- During a sparring match in episode 1, Nice and Zearth try to punch each others' faces with a cross-counter that results in the both of them writhing in pain, with Nice in particular clutching his right cheek. This is a reference to Hiroshi Miyasaka's past role as Gregore, an alien who impersonated Ultraman Dyna and fought the real Ultra into a deathmatch that resulted with his disguise exposed once Dyna punched his face in a cross-counter.
