Tsutomu Konno is one of the main characters from Ultraman Ace. He is a member of TAC. Konno is the rocket engineering authority on the team, originally from Kyushu, and his family lives in Okayama Prefecture.
Personality[]
He has a very naive and funny personality and can often rely on humorous speeches to ease the atmosphere during task meetings. In addition, he is also a big eater.
Like Yamanaka, he is often skeptical of bizarre events and Hokuto's testimony, even when his skepticism contradicts his own basic knowledge, such as memory of a Terrible-Monster. Since his father was an abbot, he often recited "Namo Amitabha Buddha" in times of crisis. Sometimes he also crosses himself while chanting.
He is irresistible to women but sometimes shows his innocent side in front of the girl he likes.

- Before joining the series, Masaaki Yamamoto made a guest appearance in Return of Ultraman episode 18 "Ultraseven Arrives!", as a coffee shop clerk .
- After finishing his role in Judo Icchokusen, Yamamoto was invited to join the cast of Ultraman Ace. Thanks to the action training he received at Nikkatsu, he handled the monster battle scenes with ease. However, he sometimes felt self-conscious filming in public while pretending to fight invisible monsters, as onlookers would stop to watch..[1]
- Shortly before his passing, Yamamoto said in an interview, "Even now, when I watch the DVD, I still feel a bit embarrassed. Working on children’s shows was fun; it felt like going on a trip." It's been almost forty years since Ultraman Ace first aired, yet devoted fans still remember it so vividly. That truly makes me happy."
