Tsugumu Maki is one of the supporting characters of ULTRAMAN. He is the son of Shunichi Maki.

Tsugumu is the son of Shunichi and Yoko, and his dream is to become an F15 pilot and fly in the sky like his father. Unfortunately, Tsugumu has been diagnosed with a congenital blood disease since birth. When he was first hospitalized due to his illness, the doctor predicted that he only had one year to live based on his condition. The doctor informed the Maki couple that "if he falls ill again, he won't survive until his next birthday" and asked them to prepare accordingly. Tsugumu's illness became the reason that drove Shunichi to retire from the JSDF Air Force.
When Shunichi was taken away by Sara, Tsugumu felt fatigued due to not knowing his father's whereabouts, and fell into a coma after kindergarten. He was sent to the hospital again. When Shunichi arrived at the hospital to visit him before departing for the final battle, Tsugumu made a promise with his father while lying in the hospital bed.
A month later, a recovered Tsugumu and Shunichi took off on a jet plane, and the father and son fulfilled their promise while flying the plane.ULTRAMAN
