- According to Takeshi Yagi, this episode was created because an additional episode was ordered by the television network around when the scripts for episodes 38 and 39 were completed and there was not enough time to create new footage.[1] He considers the episode to be the true epilogue to the show.[2]
- The only new footage in this episode is more of the hologram of DASH taking a photo together being shown, and Ultraman Max's message at the end, which is similar to Max's farewell to Kaito in the prior episode, but is longer and has Max speaking directly to the viewer.
- This episode has yet to be rereleased on any DVD releases since its original airing.
