Trivia[]

  • Time to Run Yuma
According to a joint interview with Yuki Totsuka and Sho Kaneta:[3][4]
    • During Yuma and Shu's farewell scene, the script explicitly included Shu embracing Yuma, but how the gesture was portrayed developed naturally through multiple rehearsals between the two actors. Since this was a pivotal closing scene for the series, both the actors and director Takanori Tsujimoto approached it with a sense of intense focus and emotional weight.
    • Totsuka remarked that Shu's act of hugging Yuma was "a very unexpected move." Kaneta elaborated, "For someone like Shu, it's not something he would typically do. However, at that moment, something changed within him, allowing him to step beyond his usual boundaries. That's why performing this scene felt completely natural to me."
    • Later, during the end credits, the SKIP team's Kaiju Hotline received a phone call. Although the caller's voice was not heard, the reactions from Shu and the others strongly suggested that the person on the other end was Yuma, having returned to Earth. Totsuka commented, “I think Shu truly cares deeply about Yuma, and this episode makes that especially evident. For instance, when the phone rings, Shu's expression is filled with joy, which conveys just how much Yuma means to him.”
  • According to director Takanori Tsujimoto:
    • The dreamlike world hastily created by Guilebaku and Sweed in this episode was meant to represent a state of "lack of imagination"—a world where essential elements simply don't exist. However, Masato Hagiwara, who played Tetsuya, added his own improvisation to this concept. In one scene, he pretended to pour "invisible soy sauce" onto a plate with nothing on it.[5]
    • Regarding this scene, the decoration team had a sudden flash of inspiration: "In that case, why don't we prepare a completely blank newspaper?" As a result, they secretly placed a "blank newspaper" (with only borders and no text) on Hagiwara's table during filming.[6]
