The Wandering Zangill is the seventeenth episode of Ultraman Blazar.
Synopsis[]
Reported by Choryu News[1]
Kaiju that have been defeated already start making a reappearance. However, they can walk right through people and obstacles. Everytime this occurs, a mysterious man with a big sword shows up and defeats the kaiju. Gento in an attempt to solve the mystery, tries to get ahead of the man by showing up at the next anticipated point of kaiju reappearance. There, he meets the mysterious man, Zangill, who supposedly wanted to speak with Gento. Zangill then reveals a secret about himself...

Trivia[]
- Gento's transformation was filmed at Odaiba, which has been used multiple times as a shooting location in the Heisei Ultraman series.
- According to director Takanori Tsujimoto, Mitsuru Karahashi was deeply invested in playing Zangill. His samurai-speak was written by Karahashi himself, after he asked for advice about it from someone involved in a stage play he was in. He also made various suggestions to the director, one of which was for Zangill to be holding a coffee cup when looking up at the kaiju, but Tsujimoto felt that the addition would be too complicated as they would be filming the cafe scenes on a separate day and they would have to work out where the cup would go when Zangill throws Gento later on.[5]
- Additionally, Gento holding up a spoon as if to defend himself when Zangill stands was conceived by their actors on the spot.[6]
- This episode's airdate, November 11, has been recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association as Samurai Day.
- Due to the preceding special episode not being dubbed, the Hindi dub of this episode's preview was uploaded separately on the Hindi channel.
- The Hindi title card of this episode uses the transliteration of the English title instead of the proper Hindi title ("भटकता ज़ांगिल") that was spoken in the episode preview.
- Possibly due to encoding error, the transliterated title is misspelt ("द वांडरगि ज़ागलि" instead of "द वांडरिंग ज़ांगिल").
