The Transcending Wish (超える想い, Koeru Omoi) is the nineteeth episode of Ultraman Arc.

Synopsis[]

Ultraman Arc has disappeared into the space rift, following Hellnarak. Who does Yuma meet once he wakes up? When strong feelings break the walls of dimensions, will the fates of both worlds forever change!? Arc's final beam carries everyone's wishes and heads towards Hellnarak!

Shu Ishido's Diary[]

Hellnarak appeared again in Hoshimoto City just before the dimensional rift closed.

After five days of arduous battle against the Infernal Dark Shogun and Ultraman Arc’s contribution, things have finally reached a conclusion. The GDF was about to launch a general offensive.

It was set to be their biggest attack to date, and though all residents had been evacuated, had Arc not come to our aid, the city would have suffered irreversible damages. Seeing Arc battle after five days without him has been incredible.

He courageously faced Hellnarak, and though he got knocked down once, his arm was enveloped in blue and red lights and the image of a flame appeared on his face. Watching it, I was struck by a strange sensation, as if Arc had suddenly taken on a completely different personality.

Those feelings reached their peak once Arc raised his Arc Eye Sword towards the sky in a prayer-like gesture (or at least it seemed to be one). After his prayer, the Arc Eye Sword shifted into a long, shining spear. Arc stabbed Hellnarak’s chest with it and delivered continuous shots of Arc Finalize. The second attack was able to destroy Hellnarak’s weak spot, the organ in which he produces the eggs, which destroyed it completely. And that marked the end of a long battle.

Now, there needs to be a thorough investigation regarding Hellnarak. Thanks to its appearance, it became clear that there are many new threats, different from kaiju or galactic beasts like Zadime. We must also become more vigilant of assailants from other dimensions, and not just the ones from nature or space.

I sometimes even think things like: “Honestly, will humanity ever be able to catch a break?” But we can’t turn a blind eye to these matters. We must always face these threats with courage, in order to protect the peace. This is the duty of the GDF and SKIP.

Besides, I would really want to know the details of what happened to Arc on the other side of the dimensional rift. We have been caught off guard with the many skills Arc showed during fights, but this time it was completely different. As I mentioned, it was as if he had taken characteristics from a completely different being.

There’s no doubt that something happened to him while he was gone. But whatever it was, it happened in a different dimension. Finding out what it was seems as difficult as finding out the details of where Hellnarak originated, or even harder. There are too many things to do, and too little resources. I'll leave this to the Arc FAM and focus on the tasks that were actually assigned to me: investigating the mechanism of the dimensional rift, collecting skin tissues left by Hellnarak, analyzing them, etc. Speaking of which, there was one of us who also disappeared for a long time. Yuma.

Reuniting with him at SKIP’s Hoshimoto City Branch was an absolute relief. But his explanation about his whereabouts the last four days was ambiguous to say the least. According to him, he started feeling unwell and became unable to move, then, by coincidence, met a relative who helped him. He has been sleeping ever since, which is why we were unable to contact him while was staying with this relative outside the city. Considering we were worried to death, this story of his felt a bit anticlimatic.

But seeing him lowering his head, feeling so sorry, kept me from questioning him further. I think the Chief and Rin felt the same way. It seems his dismissal will be solved with a formal letter of apology.

Even so, it’s very strange.

Yuma and Ultraman Arc. The two who hold a special place in my heart disappeared and returned at the same time. These coincidences instigate my imagination and make me create some crazy theories in my mind.

That theory is―

No. Even though this is just a diary, writing judgement on other people for no reason doesn’t seem proper. I'll stop here for today and enjoy my coffee.

It’s a moment of peace I can truly appreciate, all thanks to Yuma’s return.

I sincerely wish this peace would continue forever.[2]
