The Terrifying Saucer Creature Series! - The Red Assassin That Brings Death! is the forty-ninth episode of Ultraman Leo. It is the tenth episode in The Terrifying Saucer Creature Series story arc.
Synopsis[]
Toru who doesn't have any blood relatives really hates parents' observation day at school. Gen cannot attend the observation day because he is in pursuit of a flying saucer organism and Saucer Creature Nova possesses Toru while he is feeling down. The people of the town turn violent from the red gas dispersed by Nova.
Plot[]
Black Directive summons Nova to earth. That night, lots of red shooting stars are seen. Depressed because the school is having a "bring you parents" day, Toru walks out, unaware that the saucer monster had landed. He finds a teru teru bozu, a Japanese rain doll. He hangs it up, asking it to bring rain so that the parents day is cancelled.
Gen finds him and tells him that he will go to the parents day. Going home, Toru sings out for the teru teru bozu to make the weather fine the next day. A drunk comes across the hanging doll. He hits at it, and it turns red and breaths a gas onto him. He gains a red chain and an insane strength...
In the morning, it is reported dozens of people with red chains went berserk. Gen leaves to investigate, and Toru is crushed. He runs off, and Ayumi runs after him but is unable to cheer him up and leaves for fear of being late. Toru then sees the red teru teru bozu. Angry it did not make it rain, he tries to cut its head off. It avoids his attempts and wraps around him, telepathically telling him it will show him his mom and dad again.
The saucer beast shows Toru illusions of his parents and sister, while walking him through town spewing its insanity gas. The police are about to shoot him when Gen, Mizumi and Sakiko intervene. Mizumi and Sakiko, without fear, confront Toru, managing to avoid the gas. They call themselves his mother and older sister. This snaps him out of his possession, but as Sakiko advances the saucer monster begins to strangle Toru until Gen kicks it off.
The police open fire, but then Nova becomes huge and they run off. It begins to spread its poison gas around town, when the military attacks. Unchecked, his rampage continues, when Gen transforms. He defeats the monster in red rain. The Miyamas revive Toru and reunite with Gen.
When it rains, Toru and Ayumi make teru teru bozus to make the weather nice for the next day's picnic. It is nice the next day, but a great challenge awaits..
