Trivia[]

  • This episode is a sequel to episode 47, "Sorceress of the Sky."
  • In June 2002, due to the interrogation of the lead actor Taiyo Sugiura in a case of assault and extortion, the broadcast of Ultraman Cosmos was suspended for several weeks. As a result of this incident, the airing of this episode was halted until 2003 when it was released in DVD format.
  • Producer Hiroyasu Shibuya stated that the episode focuses on themes of misunderstanding and coexistence. In terms of special effects, the episode features intense use of napalm-like firebombs as concentrated attacks against Giragas. Additionally, it includes the signature "bicycle" sequence unique to Masaki Harada's team.[1]
  • Starting from episode 35 "The Magic Stone", the relationship between Shinobu and Kawaya has evolved. In this episode's finale, Shinobu kisses Kawaya, leaving him flustered. This moment was an improvised performance requested by Harada on set.
