Trivia[]

'"`UNIQ--ref-00000002-QINU`"'

[1]

  • This episode is a sequel to episode 9 "Friend in the Forest." It also marks the first time Ayano is treated as a fully capable team member, officially joining a mission in the field.
  • According to producer Hiroyasu Shibuya, Friend in the Forest received a strong response when it first aired, prompting the production team to bring back the creature Yamawarawa. Writer Junki Takegami was brought on to develop the episode.[2]
    • The original concept involved Yamawarawa leaving the mountains to visit Ayano in the city during a field investigation, highlighting cultural differences between rural and urban life. However, the idea was ultimately changed out of concern that it would diminish Yamawarawa’s mystical charm. Instead, the final version keeps the creature’s descent from the mountains, focusing on its interactions with children.
