[2]

  • During the planning stage of this episode, the introduction of a new kaiju and Anri's active storyline were established. Taking into account the narrative style and the foundational aspects of the monster, the production team designed a style reminiscent of the original Ultraman, while also incorporating unexpected elements.[3]
  • Regarding the setting of Dorgo, director Takanori Tsujimoto proposed the idea of a "kaiju that wakes up only to fall back asleep," which was integrated into Jun Tsugita's initial script. Although Dorgo appears to be an aggressive monster, its true desire is simply to drink water.[3]
  • The scene of Dorgo drinking water was filmed practically, and due to its long jaw, the kaiju faced some challenges during the process. Additionally, the idea for Dorgo to wipe its chin with its hand after drinking was suggested by suit actor Hiroyuki Arai.[3]
  • In this episode, capturing Gento's transformation sequence from a frontal perspective proved challenging, particularly in showcasing the moment he inserts the Blazar Stone. To address this, the production team devised a subjective camera technique. The transformation was filmed during a fall in the mountains, using a background created by positioning a mobile phone close to a miniature mountain model and continuously shaking it while recording. This approach resulted in a texture that more closely matched the costume's quality compared to actual mountain scenery, allowing for a more seamless integration between the foreground and background visuals.[3]
  • The appearance of Anri and Mizuho's childhood phantoms after Dolgo is sealed is described as a "fantastic representation of the blending of the mountain spirit's aspirations and memories."[3]
