Trivia[]
- This episode centers on Rena, focusing on the theme of "conflict and reconciliation between father and child." Initially, Rena's father, Yanase, was portrayed as somewhat cold, but this was softened based on the director's input. As a result, the final version contrasts human warmth with the alien’s cold detachment.[1]
- Director Yasushi Okada shared that he personally enjoys stories with an element of everyday fantasy. This inspired him to craft a story about a daughter with a strained relationship with her father—a deep-seated grudge she eventually overcomes, forgiving him. He hoped to present the contrast between Omi Yanase and the alien with a tone reminiscent of Greek tragedy, though he admitted this might have made the concept a bit too complex.
- Koichi Takano oversaw the special effects for this episode, but from the next episode onward, Hirochika Muraishi took over as special effects director, with Takano continuing as an advisor to help him learn the techniques. Additionally, when director Kyota Kawasaki first directed a special effects scene, Takano offered him extensive guidance.
