Trivia[]

- This episode focuses on Shinobu's storyline while highlighting the debut of TECCH Diver.
- The filming of this episode took place in Tōno, Iwate, where director Muraishi would use this as an inspiration for episode 56.
- The episode also references the legend of Renki and mentions Kagetatsu Nishikida, an ancient swordsman who previously appeared in Ultraman Tiga.
- Producer Hiroyasu Shibuya commented: "Hideyuki Kawakami crafted a highly refined script, presenting Shinobu's romantic story from a mature perspective. As for Renki's design, Director Hirochika Muraishi put significant effort into its creation. He specifically borrowed armor used in period dramas and had Kaemi design the ghostly face and hands.[2]
- Additionally, Renki's suit actor was an experienced swordfighter, and in close-up shots, real swords were even used to enhance the realism of the battle scenes. As a result, the shots where Renki brandishes a blade had a particularly striking impact, though the final portrayal also received feedback for being 'too frightening.'
- TECCH Diver's drill mechanism proved to be a challenge on set, frequently experiencing operational issues. Despite these difficulties, the team overcame the technical hurdles and successfully executed a dynamic underground drilling sequence.
- On another front, Director Muraishi was meticulous in selecting the filming locations. After extensive scouting, they found a setting that perfectly matched the atmosphere of the episode."
