The Final Resolution is the twenty-sixth episode of Ultraman Gaia. It also features the debut of Gaia's V2 form, which would replace V1, and the debut of Supreme Version.
Synopsis[]
The consequences of Gaia and Agul’s battle, and the nature of a new threat, shocks Fujimiya to the core.
Plot[]
As both Gaia and Agul are still fighting with little energy remaining, XIG watched the battle under the command of the Commander that they shouldn't interfere as it's a battle between giants and will act after the battle is decided. Coincidentally, the Commander received a call from Daniel about the update on the atmosphere and star anomalies. Daniel informed that some distant place in the cosmos is trying to connect to the earth. Daniel warned that the wormhole might appear like the C.O.V.'s invasion, but the scale is much larger. What remained a mystery for Daniel and the Commander was why the wormhole was not immediately opening up.
At the same time, both Ultras will conclude the fight by firing their photon beams. Realizing that the wormhole was waiting for the effect of fighting between the Ultramen by absorbing the energy they were giving off, the Commander asked all fighters to evacuate the area and retreat. As a result, the clash of the beams caused a large scale of energy to be given off to the area and the wormhole, which was absorbed completely. While on the other side, both Ultramen transformed into their human bodies and were heavily injured.
Fujimiya was found and taken to Geo Base hospitality, while Gamu was taken care of by the Commander without other XIG members knowing. Reiko horrified from watching the battle and the effect, gets her mind downed due to this battle caused by the fact that both Ultramen are 'humans' and seeing both of them badly hurt, especially Fujimiya.
After the fight ended in a draw, the wormhole, now called the worm zone, began disrupting weather conditions, expanded its size to 400%, and increased the phase warp factor to 189. XIG and the other defense parties were unprepared to face the upcoming threats as they already focused their power on keeping Earth's monsters confined. On the other side, the Commander fixed Gamu's broken hand and informed him about his concern about why both Ultramen fight each other while holding feelings of hatred and anger, and that is something (wormhole) waiting for both Ultras fighting for gained substantial energy. As the Commander was about to return to Aerial Base, he asked and welcomed Gamu to rejoin XIG after he healed.
While XIG reviewed their weak defense capability from the Satellite Defense System, they realized that Crisis was corresponding with the worm zone by going berserk (shown by Crisis's network/light pulse pattern synchronized with the lightning from the worm zone). This sabotage caused the satellite defense system to hang up and make it clear that the super-computer allied with the Radical Destruction Bringer. XIG launched Team Lightning, Team Falcon, and Team Crow, and as they approached the portal, Zoruim popped his head out and fired his flame breath to cause wanton destruction to the people below. XIG's attacks didn't even get his attention.
On the ground, Gamu, who is about to transform to fight the creature, gets approached by Fujimiya, who asks to fight again as their fight is not concluded yet. Gamu told him that he needed to wake up and realize the threat from the creature, as Zoruim only wanted both of them to fight again. At the same time, Gamu informed him that Crisis, which was created by Fujimiya, had been corrupted by the Radical Destruction Bringer on some very deep level. Fujimiya, who followed the Crisis conclusion as his fighting purpose and pride, found himself shocked and mentally downed as he followed the wrong assumption all this time. Wondering why he and Gamu were chosen as Ultraman (as he already lost his fighting purpose), Fujimiya gave Gamu the energy of Agul because he felt unable to protect the earth after all he had done. As he walked away and Zoruim's flames exploded around him, he disappeared, presumed dead.
To ensure his sacrifice wasn't in vain, Gamu turned into a new and improved Ultraman Gaia: Gaia Version 2. The new form headed for Zoruim and used his Quantum Stream, but it did little than annoy him. XIG fighters realized that they could attack the worm zone by riding along with the flow of the swirl and firing all their missiles into the base of the worm zone. After their plan was successful, Zoruim was utterly in pain and agony, unable to react to any attack. Shortly after, Gaia turned into Supreme Version, flew inside Zoruim, and fired the Photon Stream to blow up the monster's skull. The worm zone closed just seconds later and the weather was back to normal. With the battle over, XIG decided to forgive Gamu and welcome him back to the team as they realized that his role was essential for any conflict. Deep inside his heart, Gamu hoped Fujimiya was still alive and that both of them could fight together again one day.

- Due to Zoruim's immense size, the production team opted to showcase only its head. The only feasible way to defeat the enemy was to swallow it whole.
- The Supreme Version of Gaia was designed to showcase its transformation, emphasising the dramatic change in size.
- This episode came out the same day as the movie Ultraman Tiga, Ultraman Dyna, & Ultraman Gaia: The Decisive Battle in Hyperspace.
