The Doll (雛, Hina) is a ball-jointed doll that appeared in episode 24 of Ultra Q: Dark Fantasy.

History[]

Ultra Q: Dark Fantasy[]

The Doll is a spherical jointed doll created by Professor Taro Magara, mentor of Kakunoshin Watarai, and also a professor at Imperial University. Magara conducted research on converting human thoughts into energy but was ultimately expelled from the academic community. He considered The Doll as the perfect embodiment of his theory. After completing its construction, he wandered around aimlessly, dragging a box containing The Doll, attempting to persuade people of the validity of his theory. He continued this until he eventually fell ill and died.

In reality, The Doll contains a perpetual motion machine inside, capable of absorbing human thoughts and converting them into an energy field, with the ability to grow with the continuous thoughts of a person. With the power of the perpetual motion machine, The Doll can gradually grow from about 40 centimeters in size to the size of a human, and eventually even engage in dialogue. Because the doll itself lacks a soul and operates based on the mental power of the thinker, those who cast spells on the doll will also be affected by the spells.

After Magara's death, The Doll was acquired by a philosopher named Mihiko Kadono and eventually succeeded in capturing Menno's soul. However, The Doll incurred the jealousy of Kyoko, a maid who secretly admired Kadono. In the end, The Doll was cursed by Kyoko and destroyed. However, due to Kadono's excessive immersion in thoughts of The Doll, when the doll was destroyed, Kadono also passed away.
