The Devil's Prophecy is the third episode of Ultraman Tiga.
Synopsis[]
Before Captain Iruma, the Kyrieloid appeared, claiming to reign as the guardians of Earth. They urged Iruma to acknowledge them as the leaders of humanity. However, Iruma remained steadfast in her belief. She believed that Ultraman Tiga was the one to guide humanity...!
Plot[]
Captain Iruma was interviewed where she discussed the matter of Ultraman Tiga as humanity's hero in a talk show. Suddenly, the hostess appears to be possessed, demanding humans to surrender to the Kyriel people before leaving it's host. After discussing about the Kyriel people with fellow TPC members, Iruma went to her office where a Kyriel (addressing himself as a prophet) demands Iruma and humanity to surrender or else the K1 district will be destroyed. As he went away, the K1 District was destroyed by a surfacing inferno.
With Iruma returned to her office, she uses her son's photo frame to detect the man's thumbprint, revealing he's not a true prophet, rather a normal citizen named Mitsuo Itahashi. She secretly went to his house to investigate the man but only to found that he died three years ago via his abandoned AI computer. Kyriel captured Iruma but only for Daigo to rescue her moments later. With Point #33 about to explode, Daigo commands all citizens to evacuate the area. Once the people were safety evacuated and Ultraman Tiga had arrived to save Iruma from the explosion, Kyrieloid revealed his true form after exposing himself to his own fiery energy, and began fighting Tiga.
The two seemed evenly matched until Tiga transformed to Sky Type. While Kyrieloid's speed was impressive, Tiga's was greater and he began gaining the upper hand with a barrage of kicks until Kyrieloid began using his Sacred Fire to gain the advantage. Kyrieloid kept up his assault and managed to weaken Tiga, but GUTS and Iruma called support for Tiga, giving him new strength. Tiga then froze Kyrieloid with his Tiga Freezer attack before switching back to Multi Type and blowing Kyeloid to pieces with his Zeperion Beam.

Trivia[]
[1].
- The third episode was originally called "The Girl Who Waits for a Monster." MBS suggested that it be moved to the ninth episode. This change led to the question, "Why not feature an alien instead?" This inspired Chiaki J. Konaka to write a new script for the episode in just two days.[2][3]
- Konaka wanted to avoid the common trope of an intelligent invader who suddenly grows giant. To sum it up, he came up with the Kyriels as a separate type of character from their combat form, the Kyrieloid.
- To highlight the size of the hero and the monster, the episode was set amid tall city buildings. During filming, Hirochika Muraishi and Shinichi Kamizawa chose not to strictly divide the work between the live-action and special effects teams. Instead, they opted for a more unified and straightforward production style.
- This episode was later featured in Ultraman Retsuden episode 6 "The Stalking Shadow of the Devil! Kyrieloid Appears!!"
- This episode is one of the two episodes (along with Sa-yo-na-ra Earth) to retain the TAKE ME HIGHER theme song in the Mill Creek release of the TV Series.
Errors[]
- In this episode, according to Iruma's investigation data, Mitsuo Itahashi passed away on August 17, 2002. However, Iruma states, "Mitsuo Itahashi's vital signs ceased three years ago," suggesting the episode takes place in 2005. This creates a timeline inconsistency, especially when considering the series' opening, which is set in 2007.
