Plot

STORAGE ep12

In Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan's Chubu Region, Haruki and Yoko are in the middle of battling a monster on the loose, Grigio Raiden. With Sevenger and Windom ran out of power, Z appears, but Haruki's trauma from killing Red King earlier prevented the Ultra from firing his attack, allowing the monster to escape underground.

After an earful of complaints from Kuriyama, Yuka brings out a piece of the monster's flesh, revealing that it was modified into a living weapon by an unknown force. While the STORAGE crew wonder how it appeared in Yamanashi Prefecture, Kuriyama and Hebikura reveal the monster's origin:

"That monster... codenamed Grigio Raiden... it was under the Allied Forces observation. 10 years ago, we isolated it after it fell to Earth in hibernation. We've been researching it for years."
"STORAGE's robots were developed using data from that monster."
"But it suddenly awoke."

―Kuriyama and Hebikura

Kuriyama became desperate to stop the monster's rampage before anymore casualties would arose. While training, Haruki remembers all the monsters he had killed before, and his father's death, further accumulating to his guilt.

Grigio Raiden resurfaces to eat metal in a scrapyard to recharge his Destroy Cannon. With a control system installed within a repaired King Joe, the team put their plan into action. Yoko in King Joe STORAGE Custom split into four components for each to deliver coordinated attacks. Once assembled into Tank Mode and ended with a beam-o-war, Haruki in Windom tied the exhausted Grigio using cables. Unfortunately the plan fell through when Grigio escapes from the restrains and started to munch on Windom to recharge its cannon.

Haruki transforms into Z again, but his hesitation got the best of him, forcing the Ultra to regress into his original form. Weakened, Z doesn't stand a chance against Grigio Raiden's Destroy Cannon, forcing him out of the fight. Yoko intervenes by using King Joe to open fire on the monster's core, killing it in cold blood despite Haruki and Hebikura's disagreements. As Yoko searches for Haruki, calling out his name, Haruki looks to the sky and cries out in anguish for the loss of Grigio Raiden and all the other monsters slain over the previous weeks.
