The Bronze Devil is the tenth episode of Ultraman Cosmos.

Plot

After a bronze statue discovered in an ancient ruin is brought to EYES HQ, the members find themselves feeling less stress. The statue, possessing the ability to absorb human stress, heads out into the city and absorbs massive amounts of modern day stress causing it to grow to an enormous size!

• This episode marks the first appearance of Yukari Yoshii.
  • According to producer Hiroyasu Shibuya, the story of this episode, written by Shinsuke Onishi, revolves around a bronze statue that absorbs pressure. Originally, the statue would only release pressure occasionally over the course of many years. However, in modern society, the accumulation of pressure occurs much faster than in the past. This setting carries a bit of irony, and EYES must deal with the crisis that arises as a result.
  • In the end, while pressure shouldn't accumulate excessively, a complete lack of pressure is also a problem. This point is emphasized by Ayano at the conclusion of the episode. The production team was initially concerned about whether young viewers would understand this nuance. However, the Cosmos series is known for daring to explore various possibilities, and with the suggestion of Yoshihiko Marutani from MBS, this theme was eventually incorporated into the storyline.
