Trivia[]

  • In a 2017 interview with Japanese production staff, screenwriter Noboru Aikawa shared that he initially intended to incorporate bacteria into a story about a computer going haywire. During his research, he came across an article discussing the biosphere experiment, which was set in Australia. This led him to think that Australians would likely be familiar with the concept of a biosphere. He approached Kiyoshi Suzuki and said, “I apologize, but could you please study this a bit?” To Aikawa's relief, Suzuki accepted the theme quite straightforwardly and proceeded to write based on it.[1]
