Yano was discovered by talent scouts when he was a student, and he debuted as a singer in a folk singing group. Later, with the help of his friends at Horipro Inc., he made his debut as a composer. After resigning from his singing activities, he mainly engaged in the production of music for animation, TV dramas, movies, and other works.
In 1983, he served as the composer for the special effects drama for the first time as the accompaniment of Choudenshi Bioman. Later, from 1996 to 2003, he participated in the music creation of the Heisei Ultraman series.
