History[]

Ultraman Gaia[]

Chiba serves as a staff officer of XIG and is assigned as an observer for GUARD at the Aerial Base. On the one hand, he supervises the cooperation between XIG and headquarters and plays the role of negotiator in political institutions and summit meetings of various countries, giving him a special status. At times, he consults with Ishimuro on the planning of operational actions and other matters.

In the first half of the series, he often cannot hide his surprise at the continuous appearance of monsters. Since basic command is handled by Ishimuro, his performance in the command center is not particularly noticeable, and he only serves as an assistant.

At the beginning, due to his serious style of work, Chiba did not trust the young Gamu. However, as they worked together for a longer time, he expressed gratitude towards Gamu and his organization, Alchemy Stars, for their contributions to XIG. However, during an investigation into Fujimiya, Chiba took a strict stance against Gamu, who was closely associated with Fujimiya, and immediately suspended him from duty. Gamu Expelled! After the misunderstanding was resolved, Chiba reinstated Gamu and welcomed him back to the team with a smile. The Final Resolution

Under the stars, Chiba tells Kouki about Voyager 1.

He had a close relationship with his nephew Kouki, and whenever he had the chance, he would visit Kouki with a new telescope. They often observed the stars together at night. However, after the Radical Destruction Bringer attacked the Earth, Kouki refused to accept his gift because he was afraid of the scary things in the stars.

During a rush to the next meeting, the appearance of Pazuzu was causing the city's radio communication to fail, and the evacuation of the people was in chaos. He then unfolded the map and sent appropriate instructions to the GUARD soldiers. During the evacuation process, Chiba's actions were witnessed by Kouki, as he assisted both the military and civilians. This greatly influenced Kouki's thoughts. After the Pazuzu incident was resolved, Chiba told Kouki stories about Voyager 1 at night, and expressed that the next generation of humans would be able to inherit Voyager 1's dream of exploration. This helped Kouki regain his dream. The Stone Wing

In the later part of the series, he expressed more moderate views that prioritize respect for human life and take issue with Hiroyuki Hiiragi's plans to use the Underground Penetrate Nuclear Missile. The Living Planet

In the final battle, he and Ishimuro ordered Gaia missions to all XIG members at the Geo Base. Earth is Ultraman's Star
