"Such an evil heart you have there. Not to mention the terrible program you created. I like you, young man."
- ―Kahn Digifer describing Takeshi in their first meeting.
Takeshi Todo Gridman the Hyper Agent.
was the (former) secondary antagonist turned supporting character ofPersonality[]
Takeshi is an introverted and bitter soul as result of being neglected by his parents and in lesser extent, his friends. Because of his mistreatments and inability to properly interact with others, Takeshi was often easily swayed by Kahn Digifer's suggestions and able to hold grudges even for trivial problems.
Due to his extremely distorted self-centered personality and lack of communication skills, he has a twisted love for the person he secretly admires. For example, he always follows the girl he likes and tries to hand her love letters, but always fails.
In addition, he performs excellently in his studies. Although he claims that his grades have declined, he was able to enter the top 50 among nearly 300,000 junior high school students in the national mock exam at the cram school. In terms of daily life, he values independence and health management, following strict rules such as not littering and handling dinner purchases on his own.
When Kahn Digifer launched a full-scale attack on the human world, he was saved by Ippei and began to face his own shortcomings, ultimately changing himself and becoming the key to turning the tide of the battle, and restoring his previously more cheerful personality.
In Gridman the Hyper Agent: boys invent great hero, Takeshi is implied to have become a much better person than he used to be, wholeheartedly accepted Gridman Sigma's proposal to become his host and partner to face another threat.
History[]
Past[]
Takeshi was born into a lonely and wealthy family. As a child, he was deeply loved by the nanny, Okiyo, who was hired by the family. As a result, he developed a naive and gentle personality and even dreamed of traveling with Okiyo.
However, Takeshi's parents were quite indifferent towards their son and neglected his upbringing due to their work commitments, making Takeshi feel very helpless. Even when he could see them, they would only give orders. They almost treated him like a robot and separated him from Okiyo, who provided him with emotional support. As a result, Takeshi had to live in a lonely family environment, which made his personality even more twisted.
In response to this, Takeshi once criticized his parents as "thinking that money is the key to happiness" and "only capable of giving orders," which led to him harboring resentment towards them in his heart.
Gridman the Hyper Agent[]
At the beginning of the series, Takeshi was a second-year student at Sakuragaoka Junior High School and a classmate of Naoto. Due to his gloomy personality, he had no friends and his parents were often away on business overseas, leaving him to become a lonely computer hacker who spent his days hiding in his room. He found solace in creating monsters in a PC game called "Torture City".
One morning, Naoto's younger brother, Daichi, was taken to the hospital at Yuka's house due to appendicitis. At the same time, Takeshi confessed his love to Yuka at school, but he misunderstood her rejection and planned to retaliate against her using his computer skills.
When Takeshi infiltrates Inoue Hospital's medical computer using his hacking program to play a prank, the Kahn Digifer appears on Musashi's computer. He claims to be a dimensional criminal who has escaped from the so-called "hyper-space world", and manipulates Musashi's hatred to create monsters. He uses the Gilarus that Takeshi creates to send them into the computer world, with the intention of destroying and conquering the real world.
After working together with Gridman to defeat Gilarus, Takeshi decides to team up with Khan Digifer and become the mastermind behind designing monsters that wreak havoc in the computer world. However, their plans are frequently thwarted by Gridman. The Birth of a New Hero
Throughout the series, Takeshi manifests his dissatisfaction with his everyday life by creating monsters through computer programs, causing chaos in the computer world. However, he also frequently hesitates in situations that could lead to death. Meanwhile, he often encounters many unfortunate events in his daily life.
During an incident, Takeshi witnessed a child in danger of being hit by a car, but chose to watch and leave. However, he saw a mysterious boy named Takeo save the child. Takeshi is surprised to find that they look very similar.
When Takeo used his amazing physical strength to catch a thief who had stolen Yuka's handbag and befriended Yuka and her friends, Takeshi began to feel jealous in secret. He decided to use monsters to take revenge on Takeo, whom he saw as the source of his misfortune. However, because Takeo's personal information could not be found in the municipal resident registration book, the revenge plan did not progress.
At this point, Kahn Digifer noticed that Takeo was wearing the latest watch model with a microchip. He released Chidogerah to control the system of the radio tower, causing everyone wearing this type of watch to go crazy, in order to indirectly take revenge. However, Takeo had already lost his watch at that time, rendering the plan meaningless. Takeo stopped the controlled Naoto, Ippei and others, receiving gratitude from the citizens.
When Chidogerah was defeated by Gridman, Takeshi's jealousy turned into murderous intent. In order to personally eliminate Takeo, he picked up a yellow utility knife and attacked Takeo. However, just as Takeo was about to be stabbed, he smiled at Takeshi and transformed into a childhood version of Musashi. He then gave Takeshi the "yellow paper airplane," which was a symbol of their shared childhood experience in Okiyo, and disappeared suddenly.
After picking up the paper airplane, Takeshi threw away the art knife in his hand and started crying in the hallway. At that moment, he remembered his past innocence and how he had become unrecognizable now.Another Takeshi
Before the final battle, Takeshi indulged in his anger and lost control. As Skubone's attack failed, Kahn Digifer blamed Takeshi for everything and decided to kick him out of the house. Takeshi fell into despair and ended up homeless in the park.
Fortunately, he met Naoto and his friends, who discovered each other's true identities. Takeshi was also surprised to learn about Gridman, who had been defeating the monsters he created while staying at Junk.
When Yuka asked Takeshi about his motives and situation, he confessed that he had long been in a relationship of exploitation and oppression, and Kahn Digifer had become like a savior to him. He tearfully revealed his situation to the others. However, when Kahn Digifer learned that Takeshi was with Naoto and his friends, he became very angry. He attempted to punish Takeshi with a punitive electric shock, but Yuka and Ippei saved him in the nick of time. The Earth in Danger
After witnessing Gridman's determination to continue fighting, Takeshi 's heart finally changed. When the battle shifted from Junk to his own computer, he personally destroyed all the data in an attempt to stop Khan Digifer from entering the real world. He also admitted for the first time his own ugliness and weakness and understood that his previous actions were wrong. Thus, he became the key to Gridman's reversal.
After the battle, Gridman returned to the Hyper World and told Takeshi, "You are no longer alone." In the end, Takeshi became a new friend of Naoto and his group, and the four of them watched Gridman's departure together under the setting sun.Goodbye Gridman
