Special Summary 2: Cosmos's Last Fight(特別総集編2 コスモス最後の戦い, Tokubetsu Sōshūhen Ni: Kosumosu Saigo no Tatakai) is the second special episode of Ultraman Cosmos.
This episode was one of two stopgap installments produced after the temporary suspension of Ultraman Cosmos in 2002, which followed an investigation of the lead actor, Taiyo Sugiura. When it first aired, all scenes featuring his character, Musashi Haruno, were removed.
The time has finally come for the Chaos Header and Cosmos to determine their fate. The battle on the moon, where large quantities of Soagg minerals were buried, seemed to have led to a victory for Cosmos. However, all the enraged Chaos Headers gathered together and transformed into Chaos Darkness.
Exhausted from using up all its power, Cosmos disappears, and no decisive countermeasure remains for EYES. Just then, the monsters begin to display strange behaviors…!
Ultraman Cosmos Special Selection vol.2 features episodes 56, 58, SP2, SP3.
For the series' 10th anniversary in 2011, the series was released on a DVD box set, which included this episode.[1]

Trivia[]
This episode served as a temporary series conclusion, compiling footage from episodes 63, 64, and 65. Due to time constraints, the true nature and motives of Chaos Header were only briefly explained, but the decisive battle between Cosmos and Chaos Ultraman Calamity on the moon remained.
These two special episodes marked the end of Ultraman Cosmos' initial run during the broadcasting crisis caused by Taiyo Sugiura's arrest. The compilation episode ended with the message: "Farewell for now. We will surely meet Ultraman Cosmos and the team again..."
On July 13, a rebroadcast of Ultraman Cosmos was officially announced after the case against Sugiura was dismissed for lack of evidence. The series resumed on July 20 with episode 51. Reflecting on these events, producer Hiroyasu Shibuya said, "Through the chain of dreams we shared with our viewers, it was ultimately our audience who gave us dreams and miracles." [2]
