Ultraman Gaia[]
Shusaku was originally an ordinary middle school student. However, since Ultraman Gaia and C.O.V. appeared in the world, he also gained superpowers. Nevertheless, he often dreams of a mysterious man who claims to be the sorcerer Kijuro Mato from the Warring States period, and Shusaku is his descendant. In pursuit of his desire to conquer the world, Mato appears in the city during the night in the form of zombie-like Gan-Q.
After school one day, Shusaku and his childhood friend, Hiromi Amikawa, went to a dessert shop together. While they were chatting, a sudden accident occurred when a shop assistant accidentally broke a glass. In a moment of urgency, Shusaku once again used his superpowers and successfully prevented the accident from happening. However, this scene was witnessed by Gamu, who happened to be in the shop at the time.
That night, in his dream, Mato asked Shusaku to lend him his power, assuring him that if he did, any wish he desired would be fulfilled. Just as Gan-Q appeared in the city again, Shusaku, who was present at the scene, was protected by Ryuichi Senuma, the chief of the GUARD Intelligence Unit "Lizard." Upon learning about the situation, Shusaku disclosed everything to Gamu, who had arrived to investigate.
The next day, Gamu took the melancholic Shusaku out to play soccer. During their conversation, Shusaku expressed feeling somewhat unfair, but once the situation became tense, he couldn't help but use his superpowers and jokingly said, "Maybe it's better to follow Mato's instructions." He also mentioned that if Mato was his ancestor, then he should inherit his ancestor's will.
Upon hearing this, Gamu challenged Shusaku to a penalty shoot-out. Shusaku used his superpowers to alter the trajectory of the soccer ball and easily scored a goal. However, Gamu didn't give up and continued to compete wholeheartedly. In the end, Gamu seized the moment when Shusaku used his superpowers to change the ball's trajectory and successfully stopped the goal by throwing his shoe. Although Shusaku called him "sneaky," his inner resistance dissolved, tears welled up in his eyes. Gamu then consoled and reassured him, expressing that despite Shusaku possessing what was perceived as a cursed superpower, he had not used it for evil but for good. As long as his will remained steadfast, the curse would surely disappear.
In the dream that night, Shusaku refused to lend his power to Mato. Enraged, Mato declared to take Hiromi hostage and manifested in the real world as a spirit, manipulating Hiromi to seize energy. Shusaku attempted to stop Mato's plot and, driven by anger, his body was surrounded by a bright light. In that moment, Mato forcibly took the energy from Shusaku, causing the complete form of "Gan-Q" to resurrect.
Gamu transformed into Ultraman Gaia and engaged in a battle with "Gan-Q." However, no matter how many times "Gan-Q" was defeated, it continued to attack. It could even transform its eyes into strange objects and fire beams, putting Gaia in a predicament. In a critical moment, the awakened Shusaku exerted all his effort, using his superpowers to attack "Gan-Q" with a burst of light, causing "Gan-Q" to revert to an incomplete form again. Ultimately, Gaia succeeded in defeating "Gan-Q" with a final photon stream attack.
In the end, despite losing his superpowers, Shusaku found contentment in his current life. He expressed gratitude to Gamu before going on a date with Hiromi. The Accursed Eye
