Shinichi Ooka is a Japanese cinematographer and producer. He is the 10th president of Tsuburaya Productions.
Career[]
After initially dropping out of Keio University's Law School, Ooka joined Tsuburaya Productions in 1969. His career began as a photography assistant on Horror Theater Unbalance. From the 1970s onward, he primarily served as a cinematographer for the company's series productions, later transitioning to the roles of cinematographer and special effects director for the Heisei Ultraman Series starting from the 1990s.
In the 2000s, Ooka took on the role of producer supervisor for Tsuburaya Productions' subsequent works. After becoming the company's representative director and president in 2008[1], he transitioned to an advisory role in 2017, with Takayuki Tsukagoshi taking over as president.
