Seiya Tatsumi

Seiya Tatsumi (タツミセイヤ, Tatsumi Seiya) is the captain of the anti-monster expert team GUTS-Select. As the team's captain, he efficiently leads the entire crew with their different personalities using his balance of kindness and strictness.^[1]^[2]

Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga[]

Tatsumi first appeared on a TV screen on Mars, explaining GUTS-Select and its arsenal. ^{Connection of Light} He met Kengo Manaka the day he joined the team. ^{Leap to the Future} When GUTS-Select considered cooperating with Ultraman Trigger to defeat monsters, he resolved to take full responsibility for the consequences. ^{What Makes a Savior}

On Yuna Shizuma's 18th birthday, Tatsumi revealed Mitsukuni Shizuma's past to rest of the group while Shizuma told his daughter personally. ^{The Wings of That Day}

After noticing Kengo was injured in the same place that Ultraman Trigger was damaged by Darebolic, he began to suspect Kengo's true identity. ^{The Golden Threat}

During the Morpheus R incident, Tatsumi was excited to announce that he had been selected as the lead commander of GUTS-Select Asia. He became distressed when his team are unable to focus on their jobs after becoming fixated on their desires, then was mortified when he learned that not only was the announcement of his promotion an illusion transforming the results of his recent physical, but he had also ranked "C" for liver problems. ^{Smile Operation No.1}

During the final battles with Megalothor, Tatsumi encouraged Kengo to tell the truth about being Ultraman Trigger, promising it wouldn't change his relationship with GUTS-Select's members. He bowed to Kengo, apologizing for burdening him with such a big responsibility. ^{The Ruler of Shadows} He teared up while the team saw Kengo off to contain the Eternity Core's energy, but smiled when the R'lyeh flower finally bloomed. ^{To the Ones Who Believe in Smiles / Pull the Trigger}

Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z[]

Ultraman Trigger Movie - Seiya Tatsumi & Lilar — Tatsumi joined the TPU security team

Two years after Kengo Manaka sacrificed himself to stabilize the Eternity Core, Tatsumi had left GUTS-Select and moved to the TPU's security team, where he was in charge of investigating the Leyrah cult who had been sighted infiltrating Ultra-Ancient sites. He arrested and detained Leyrah Ibra, and from his interrogations, found out that the Leyrah had been using to control monsters after the Eternity Core's fluctuations had stopped, presenting his findings to Mitsukuni Shizuma and the rest of GUTS-Select who had come under the command of Ryuichi Tokioka.

Seiya Tatsumi trigger movie 1 — Tatsumi returns as captain of GUTS-Select

After cooperating with the Leyrah to displace Kengo from the Eternity Core and keep the world safe, they betrayed the TPU and attacked, breaking their leader out of his detainment, attacking Tatsumi and his men in the process. He was then reassigned as the captain of GUTS-Select after Tokioka betrayed them, revealing himself to be Zabil, and transformed into Evil Trigger. Tatsumi and the other members of GUTS-Select help Ultraman Trigger, Trigger Dark and Ultraman Z win the battle.

When the battle was over, Yuna watched as the Eternity Core's gateway tower crumbled, saying goodbye to Yuzare. GUTS-Select then witnessed Zabil dying, regaining his humanity as he disappeared into the light. After Z and Haruki Natsukawa recaptured Celebro and returned to their world, GUTS-Select threw another party for Kengo's return. ^{Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z}

Ultraman Decker[]

Tatsumi was transferred to Mars along with Kengo and Akito, and was unfortunately trapped there when the Spheres invaded and placed their Sphere Barrier over the Earth. With whatever equipment they had, the members of the previous GUTS-Select continued to defend civilization for over a year. When Kengo made it to Earth through the barrier, Taiji Murahoshi, the new GUTS-Select captain, mentioned that he was worried about Tatsumi because he was his senior during his days as a pilot. As Kanata's parents were also stranded on Mars, Kengo reassured him that Tatsumi had taken charge of protecting everyone there. ^{The Light of Hope from the Red Planet}
