Trivia[]
- This episode focuses on Captain Kiriyama as the protagonist.

The script cover titled "Search for Tomorrow!"
- In the final draft, the title was "Search for Tomorrow!" [1]. However, the exclamation mark was removed in the final broadcast version.
- The design of Gabura was inspired by a caterpillar. As for Alien Shadow, according to Tohl Narita, the sculpted model exuded a peculiar sense of life, and this prototype served as the foundation for crafting its face. The model's features were intentionally exaggerated and inverted to create a bizarre appearance. The creation of these monsters can be attributed to the creative input of Ryosaku Takayama.
- In the story, after Gabura's head is severed, it continues to attack before ultimately dying by "melting into a gelatinous substance." The original script had Ultraseven flying away after the battle, but in the final broadcast, the plot was changed. Instead, Ultraseven suffers from toxic torment, he deactivates his transformation, leaving the same scars on Dan's arm.
- According to interview provided by Shozo Uehara to Yoichi Iwasa:[2]
- In the story, Alien Shadow invade using the most advanced scientific technology, yet they are revealed and even frightened by supernatural powers like fortune-telling. This theme is also present in episode 43, "Nightmare of Planet No. 4," where Soga insists on using Western astrology. The same concept was explored in the final episode of Himitsu Sentai Gorenger, featuring the Cassiopeia, who adopts a similar theme. Additionally, Alien Shadow in the episode exhibits characteristics of the Noppera-bō from rakugo, a motif that was also featured in episode 17 of Battle Fever J.
- The Ultraman Orb episode "A Future Shrouded in Fog" is a tribute to this episode.
