Sara Mizuhara 14

Sara's first appearance.

Sara was first seen in a lab preparing a weapon the kill the Beast the One. As The One was escaping the facility, she shot the monster. After the beast reveals Udo's face, Sara was shocked, allowing the beast to escape. Blaming herself for this she would later appear excessively professional refusing to let her feelings cloud her judgement again. Sara acted as a spy on Shunichi Maki when he was with his family after watching Maki's debriefing and his testimony about his experience and crash involving the red light. Sara then declares him a monster despite him showing no signs of transformation.

Soon, she posed as tourist on Maki's plane taking gun point Maki to the Japan Air Defense Force where she explained the situation. She had Maki used as bait in a derelict facility wherein they had hope The One would be drawn towards him so the military could shoot the beast with their special poison darts that Sara had used before.

However, the space beast had developed an immunity to the poison and the soldiers there were slaughtered when it mutated into its next form. Sara was almost killed when Maki escaped and then transformed. To her surprise it was not a monstrous form like Udo's but a silver giant. She and the rest of surviving soldiers watched as the silver giant, Ultraman the Next, fights the space beast, but when the creature threatened Sara's life, Next dove in front of the tail, taking several whips before forcing the creature into retreat where it broke through the wall and vanished into the wilderness.

Sara's Research Room

Sara reevaluated whether Maki's existence was that of a monster.

After the battle, Sara confronts Maki who called her out for her callous use of him as bait. Sara refused to admit any wrongdoing, saying that Udo (the One's host) predicted another person would suffer a similar fate to him and that the two would be enemies. When asked about her intentions Sara stated that she would not kill Maki, unlike Udo he did not become a monster and was in control of himself, saving her from the One's attack to her surprise. She stated that 'the Next' was for the moment not their enemy. Maki refused to help, refusing to be a 'useful monster'.

When Maki escaped the escort due to vision of his son being brought to hospital, Sogabe, the head of BCST, ordered a kill order on him, despite Sara's objections that Maki's powers were crucial to defeating Beast The One. Determined to find him, Sara contacted Maki's colleague, JASDF officer Gou Kurashima, to ask about his wife, Yoko, and their son, Tsugumu. Realizing Maki fled to see his son, she instructed Kurashima to wait at the hospital while she searched for him.

Sara intercepted Maki at the hospital. Maki explained that he might not survive his battle with Beast The One and wanted to see his son one last time. When Kurashima appeared with a gun, Sara allowed Maki 10 minutes with his family instead of forcing him to leave. Maki eventually agreed and left with Sara after their brief reunion.

Sara revealed to Maki that Udo was her fiancé and expressed guilt over not being able to kill him immediately to prevent more casualties.

On the way, Sara warned Maki she would face Beast The One alone if he refused to cooperate. She revealed that she had developed a stronger special bullet using tail fragments from their previous the creature, and her willingness to sacrifice herself. As they talked, Sara shared her guilt over her fiancé, Udo, whose escape from the research center had led to many casualties. Her determination to end the conflict moved Maki, and he agreed to help.

The pair entered Shinjuku's underground drainage system, but Yashiro and his team confronted them, blaming Sara for their losses. Sara convinced Yashiro to trust her one last time, explaining Maki's importance to their mission. Yashiro reluctantly allowed them to proceed. Deeper in the drainage system, Sara and Maki encountered Udo, who seemed disoriented and eerily normal. Shocked by his appearance, Sara cautiously told him he was dead before firing a special bullet at him. However, Udo's behavior turned out to be a ruse as he reverted to his Beast The One form and captured Sara. Maki, determined to save her, transformed into Ultraman and engaged the creature.

As Beast The One absorbed a swarm of rats to evolve into its third form and burst onto the streets of Shinjuku, Ultraman carried Sara to safety before battling the creature. Even after it evolved into its fourth form and dusk fell, Maki eventually defeated the creature, with Sara watching silently as the remnants of Beast The One scattered into the sky.

A month later, Sara watched from the ground as Maki fulfilled his promise to his son by taking him on a flight in a trainer aircraft. Standing quietly, she whispered, "Thank you, Ultraman," before breaking into a smile. ULTRAMAN

Ultraman Nexus[]

After the Shinjuku Disaster, Sara resigned from the BCST and led the Prometheus Project in the United States, an initiative to create superhumans, including those like Ren Senjyu and Yu Kirasawa, to face the Space Beasts in case they were to return. The Promethean Children had a flaw in their cells where they would eventually die, with a drug called Raphael being developed to save them, but Sara halted its development when the Space Beasts reappeared to focus on researching them instead.

Five years later, Sara returned to Japan as a TLT North America investigator when the Unknown Hand attempted to infiltrate Fortress Freedom's Section 0. Accompanied by Hayato Kaimoto, she attended a meeting with Eisuke Wakura and TLT executives, explaining that the Unknown Hand's actions were likely linked to Lethe and revealing humanity's encounter the Visitors twenty years ago. Meanwhile, the Night Raiders hacked TLT's systems and uncovered the truth behind the Shinjuku Disaster. Oblivion - A.D. 2004 -

Sara also briefed the Night Raiders on Lethe, the Visitors, and the erasure of humanity's memories of Beast The One and Ultraman, believing they had no choice as the Space Beasts feed on fear. While Nagi proposed that hatred could overcome that fear, Sara disagreed, stating that while she too hated the Space Beasts, as she had even ordered Maki to eliminate her own fiancé after he became one, she had learned from Ultraman that love and compassion were stronger and more enduring motivations in the fight.

Later, Sara met privately with Kaimoto, granting him and the Promethean Children approval to secretly continue Raphael's development. While leaving Fortress Freedom, she told Kaimoto that seeing everyone's hope in Ren Senjyu reminded her of Maki, and that no matter how powerful the Unknown Hand appears, he would not give up on that hope.
