Samuel Aning [2][3], also known as Samy Pop or Nana Yaw Pop[3], is a Ghanaian actor, model and manager who works in Japan. He played Michael Simmons in Ultraman Gaia.
Career[]
Aning first moved to Japan on September 14, 1990,[4] with his sister and her Japanese husband.[5] While working part-time at an Italian restaurant in Harajuku, he was introduced to the Japanese entertainment industry by a coworker.[4] After winning a Karaoke competition for foreigners, Motoko Inagawa, one of the judges, asked him to join her talent agency, where he began acting, modelling and managing other talents.[4][5]
Aning became the CEO of production company Bay Side in 2008.[2] As of 2020, he frequently hosts an online radio show called JafriQ Radio.
Personal Life[]
Aning can speak English, Japanese and Akan.[2] His hobbies are basketball, singing and photography.[2][6]
