"If I am not number one, nobody... Nobody will love me!"

―Ryosuke, express his bitterness for failing to become "Number One".

Ryosuke Sanada (サナダ・リョウスケ, Sanada Ryōsuke) is one of the supporting characters of Ultraman Tiga. He is a member of the TPC Space Development Center and the host of Evolu.

Personality[]

Ryosuke has a proud personality, despite possessing exceptional elite abilities. However, he has an extreme tendency towards inferiority due to the invisible pressure he feels from his past elite education and his parents' expectations. He often broods over his past failures and becomes immersed in the past, unable to extricate himself.

Therefore, he also desires a more powerful force to change himself. From the videotapes he left behind, he hoped that humanity could rely on science to achieve the conditions for "evolution" and thereby transform civilization.

However, with the divergence of implanting the Evolu cells into his body, his thoughts gradually entered a completely negative emotional state, resulting in his tragic ending.

History[]

Pre-Ultraman Tiga[]

Ryosuke's parents were highly accomplished scientists who wanted their son to become an outstanding scientist who would always be at the forefront of his field. Growing up, Ryosuke developed a strong elitist tendency and began cultivating the research skills necessary for a scientist.

Five years ago, during his school days, he was a frequent competitor with Horii. During this time, he also secretly loved his classmate Sayaka, but that love did not come to fruition. This made Ryosuke feel that he was never gifted enough to be called a "genius" and unable to achieve his goals smoothly. He believed he was a complete failure and that his relationships with others were superficial.

After joining the TPC Space Development Center, Ryosuke achieved very high academic achievements and accomplishments within the organization. However, because he was not selected in the GUTS selection, he was quite envious of Horii, who he believed had lower abilities than him.

Ultraman Tiga[]

Three months ago, during an experiment to discover Evolu Cells in a meteorite, Ryosuke accidentally touched the cells and was compelled by his inner subconscious to transplant them into his own body. This resulted in his body undergoing mutations that violated scientific ethics. In order to avoid TPC's pursuit, he secretly hid in a new type of resort for recuperation, and Sayaka, feeling worried, also came to the resort to take care of him.

Ryosuke is about to turn into Evolu.

When Horii arrived at the location of the Evolu biological reaction, the new resort, he reunited with Ryosuke and was confused about the source of the Evolu. During the investigation, he informed Daigo about the situation and requested a background check on Ryosuke.

Upon learning the results, Horii discovered that Ryosuke had been studying Evolu cells all along and was the number one suspect for cell theft.

Around the same time, Ryosuke invited Sayaka, who was worried about his body, for a walk on the nearby beach, and he developed symptoms of epilepsy again. Horii rushed over and tried to persuade him to go back to TPC for treatment, but Ryosuke refused and angrily vented his feelings of inferiority and powerlessness. Despite Horii and Sayaka trying to reassure him, however, Ryosuke continued to deny it and eventually completely broke down and transformed into Evolu, starting to rampage.

"Ryosuke... Everyone has dark places within their heart, but you... let the darkness in your heart out. Sleep well, please... do not compete against anyone anymore!"

―Horri lament over his fallen friend.

Ryosuke's death.

After Ultraman Tiga defeated Evolu, Ryosuke eventually died due to the effects of the side effects on his body. Horii and Sayaka, who witnessed the scene, felt quite sad and believed that "everyone has a dark side... and unfortunately, you showed it... you're just an ordinary person, like everyone else." Ryosuke's tragedy greatly influenced Horii and Sayaka's future behavior. Requiem to the Darkness

Later, Ryosuke's soul appeared in the form of Evolu and saved Sayaka and her team while preventing Metamorga's actions. Goodbye to Darkness
