Rumi Honjou is one of the main characters in the Heisei Ultraseven series. She is a new member of UG.
Personality
Throughout the series, Rumi consistently displays a cheerful, sincere, and natural side. She often views things from an emotional perspective and is also very concerned and attentive to the emotions between members. Despite a slight lack of tension even when faced with sudden situations, Rumi retains her duty as a member of UG and has the determination to face battles.
In her relationships with members, her relationship with Satomi is the closest. The two have a sister-like bond and often show their playful and reliant sides to each other.
History
Ultraseven 98
As a newly appointed member of UG, Rumi serves as a communicator in the team, often directing team members' actions from the command room and using state-of-the-art computing technology to investigate monster, alien visitations to Earth, and mysterious phenomena around the Japan.

After learning that Staff Furuhashi was killed at the moon base, she was heartbroken and secretly saved related equipment for other members to use after UG was indefinitely suspended. Despite Satomi advising Rumi that she was still young and shouldn't bear the pressure of being punished by the higher-ups, she still insisted on being a part of UG and donned the uniform to join the team.
However, when the members were manipulated by Alien Valkyrie to kill each other, she fainted due to fear after witnessing Dan's attack on everyone. After this, UG's reputation was finally redeemed, and Rumi and other members were granted permission to resume work.Legends and Glory
Once, she went on a vacation to Okinawa with Satomi. When they were returning to the boat, Satomi was distracted by a mysterious man and left her behind, leading to the hurried arrival of Kazamori who took her to the island to tour and find Satomi's whereabouts.The Sky-Flying Iron Colossus
When Kazamori's identity as Ultraseven was exposed, leading to his arrest by UG on the orders of TDF's higher-ups, even with orders for immediate execution, Rumi was agitated about Satomi's role in arresting Kazamori and believed that regardless of Kazamori's true identity, he was a team ally, even slapping Satomi in anger.
Rumi is about to send Omega Files
To prove Kazamori innocence, Rumi and Captain Shiragane decided to investigate the files related to the Omega Files and discovered that information on Captain Kiriyama and Nonmalt was deleted from the files. Later, when other team members broke into TDF's facility to rescue Kazamori, she infiltrated TDF's Omega Files database and exposed the contents of the Omega Files and the corruption of the officers to other TDF officers.
Subsequently, with Takenaka's approval, she broadcasted the Omega Files' data to the universe via the transmission antenna, causing the civilizations of the universe to learn of the file's message.
Later, after the Friendship Plan was terminated, she and other members witnessed Ultraseven return the real Kazamori to UG through its monster capsule.I Am an Earthling
Ultraseven EVOLUTION
Five years after the Omegas Files incident, Rumi remained in UG and continued to serve. When she encountered her new junior Yuki, she communicated with her in a cheerful manner. During a mission to investigate a specific location with Yuki for gravitational abnormalities, she was unexpectedly taken away by Alien Pegassa. However, after communicating with the Dark Zone and Alien Pegassa, she learned of their good intentions and the truth behind the downfall of the remaining species after the bombing of Pegassa City.Dark Side
Rumi is controlled by new human
Three weeks later, UG was officially disbanded by TDF without warning or consultation. Upon learning of the TDF's internal infiltration, Satomi decided to secretly act with all former UG members. To prevent extraterrestrials from acquiring the technology of other TDF global branch organizations, Rumi left the team and hijacked Ultra Hawk No.1, successfully completing the mission.Perfect World
After the mission, Rumi and the members of UG stared at the sunset together.
Months after the destruction of the Far East Base, the brainwashed Japanese residents returned to their normal lives without considering the existence of UG. When UG discovers that all city residents have been brainwashed, Rumi and other team members also become targets of the new human race and become captives. But after the plan of the new humans was stopped, they returned to normal.Neverland
After Kazamori successfully stopped Alien Garut's conspiracy, she and the rest of the UG team confirmed the continued development of humanity through the information of Akashic Records. Finally, she and everyone else gazed at the sunset and sighed at the future of humanity, as well as the departure of Kazamori and Satomi.Akashic Records

Trivia
- During the casting process for the Ultraseven 30th Anniversary Memorial Trilogy, the initial selection of cast members primarily consisted of the 4 characters predetermined for the 1994 special program, along with one Human Host. The role of the communications member was added later in the process.[1] According to Rieko Adachi, she was selected by Masahiro Tsuburaya during auditions to portray the character Rumi.[2]
