[1]

  • The sequel to this episode is episode 47 "Goodbye to Darkness".
  • This is the first episode of Ultraman Tiga to feature the kaiju's name on the episode's title card.
  • This episode was filmed on location at the Izu Imaihama Tokyu Resort in Izu.
  • Due to the extension of the storylines in episode 6, "Second Contact," the director for this episode was changed from Gota Kawasaki to Shinichi Kamisawa. During this time, a revised version of the script, titled "Final Draft II," was developed. In the earlier draft, Evolu was originally intended to be defeated by Tiga and then taken away into space.
  • Screenwriter Junki Takegami recalled that the episode aimed to depict the inner emotions of a human transformed into a monster, envisioning it as a story with a strong sense of realism. In the initial series, the monster's appearances were minimal, and the tone leaned toward comedy. The character Horii was also conceived as a more comedic figure, but as the monster appeared more frequently, Horii's portrayal gradually became more serious.[2]
  • Director Shinichi Kamizawa reflected that he experimented a bit with the GW (gravity wire) techniques in this episode, particularly at the beginning. In considering how far CG could approximate the effects of wire work within a short time frame, they adapted the approach to integrate miniature model shooting with CG enhancements, using a phased method to fill in the gaps.
