Plandon (プランドン, Purandon) is a plant/dinosaur monster that appeared in episode 24 of Denkou Choujin Gridman. The creature was adapted in Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad as the Thorned Virus.

History

Denkou Choujin Gridman

A pinkish-colored plant/dinosaur monster with leaf veins patterned throughout its body. Plandon was sent into a greenhouse that was conducting experiments on flowers; the flowers were altered and began spraying deadly pollen that was speading throughout the city. With Dyna Dragon holding the monster at bay, Gridman destroyed Plandon with Grid Light Saber, slicing the beast into four pieces.

Trivia

Plandon might be a tribute to other plant based monsters in the Ultra series like Greenmons and Kemuria.
Plandon shares his title with Big Eye from Mirrorman.

Vines: Being a plant, Plandon can ensnare foes with vines.
