Pigu HD 002

Pigu's first appearance.

Pigu is one of the 100 robots deployed in the Earth Defense Army, designated as Number 1. His performance is at a high level, comparable to the central computer of the Earth Defense Army Far East Base.

Upon his initial appearance, he was assigned as the information processor for the newly established Science Guard Party. Although initially mistaken for an outdated initial model robot, he possesses a highly robust emotional circuit. Equipped with a danger detection circuit, he can perceive abnormal radio waves, and he also incorporates a language calculator capable of translating monster languages. Due to his high-performance capabilities, he takes on a humane fatherly role in the series, caring for and nurturing the orphaned Monkey, who lost her mother. Birth of a New Hero

Following that, throughout the entire series, Pigu frequently serves as an intelligence officer at the Far East Base, responsible for predicting any abnormal phenomena, providing weather forecasts, and consolidating eyewitness information. In addition to his information processing capabilities, he is also proficient in piloting fighter jets and occasionally participates as a pilot in combat missions. By combining his skills in intelligence analysis with practical combat experience, he provides comprehensive support to the team.

During the explosion event on Planet Diora, fragments of the planet fell to Earth, causing anomalous phenomena due to the radio waves they contained. This anomaly quickly subsided, but the underground monster Combugon became active as a result.

Pigu HD 030

Upon witnessing the highly advanced robot No. 101, Pigu felt disappointed in his own capabilities.

Pigu received a mysterious danger signal, but he could only sense a "vague feeling" and was unaware of the details. Despite the team's investigation in the direction indicated by Pigu, no abnormalities were found, and Pigu did not receive the mysterious signal again. At this time, a new robot, No.101, entered the Science Guard Party's command room and was assigned to join the team. No.101 had the ability to think for itself, and Pigu felt that he couldn't keep up with this outstanding machine.

Although Pigu received the mysterious danger signal again, the investigation showed no abnormalities. Pigu began to doubt whether he had malfunctioned, feeling desperate as an outdated robot that would be phased out. He informed the team that he was going to the robot factory and left the Science Guard Party.

Concerned about Pigu, Hikari and Mutsumi visited the robot factory and learned from the staff that Pigu had voluntarily applied for decommissioning. When they met Pigu, despite their attempts to encourage him, Pigu's mood remained heavy. Upon returning to the Far East Base, they received an emergency report about an unauthorized activation of a fighter jet that was about to be scrapped.

Hikari and Mutsumi realized that Pigu was aboard the fighter jet, so they piloted Beetamii to try to persuade Pigu to return. At the same time, the fighter jet Pigu was on was old and in danger of crashing. Captain Akiyama received orders from higher-ups that if Pigu didn't heed the advice, he should be shot down. However, due to Pigu's lack of response, the fighter jet entered the city. Following Captain Akiyama's orders, Hikari and Mutsumi targeted Beetamii's super missiles on Pigu.

Pigu HD 031

Pigu, piloting a fighter jet, assisted Ultraman Joneus in battling against Combugon.

Suddenly, the ground cracked open, and a sandstorm rose as Combugon appeared. It turned out that the danger signal Pigu received was a warning of Combugon's appearance. Captain Akiyama and the others waiting at the base launched the Super Mardock to counter. However, later, with the assistance of Pigu in the fighter jet, Ultraman Joneus successfully defeated Combugon. Pigu, confirming his normal state, returned to the Far East Base to continue his role in the original position. Order to Attack! The Objective Is Pigu!

After some time, Pigu underwent modifications by Marume and was equipped with a gas stove, granting him the ability to cook. During their response to the Hectore incident, where Hectore had destroyed a village, causing frustration for Ichiro, the son of the machine's developer, Daisuke Ogawara, Pigu was requested to restart the interrupted excavation operation. Unable to refuse Ichiro's plea, he activated the excavation machine without permission and arrived at the cave where Hectore showed abnormalities.

There, Pigu and Ichiro discovered Hectore. However, when Hectore noticed them, it attacked. The team, alerted to the anomaly, arrived at the scene. While Marume accused Pigu of acting without authorization, Pigu's behavior became strange, and he attacked Marume expressionlessly.

Pigu HD 032

Pigu is possessed by Liquid Monster.

At this moment, Daisuke appeared, pulling Pigu away from the others. Marume discovered that Pigu's belly was filled with a mysterious liquid. He then ignited the gas stove that had been previously installed without authorization inside Pigu's belly. The liquid escaped from Pigu's body, restoring him to normal. The team learned that the entity possessing Hectore was a type of Liquid Monster. The Science Guard Party's Challenge!

In the final stages of the series, Pigu accompanied the team to Planet U40 to participate in the battle against the Heller Empire. However, to avoid being targeted, he was instructed to stay in the ruins of Ultria for shelter. When other members were captured, Pigu, after Ultraman Joneus transformed, went to rescue all the members.

Science Guard Party 6

After the final battle with the Heller Empire, Pigu and the other members bid farewell to Joneus and Amia who left Earth.

With peace restored to both U40 and Earth, the Science Guard Party members returned to Earth, bidding farewell to Joneus and Amia, who were about to return to U40. To The Ultra Star! Conclusion: Towards Peace and Victory
