In the midst of the capture operation led by the GGF, the mother Demaaga makes an appearance. The GGF launches attacks as the parent kaiju approaches its baby.

[3]

  • This episode marks the final work of writer Sumio Uetake, who passed away on February 15, 2023.
    • Its structure and themes echo the 1993 film Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II. Director Tomonobu Koshi noted the similarity when previewing the episode on X (formerly Twitter).[4]
    • Koshi explained that the concept centers on Ultraman becoming enraged when a child cries over injustice or bullying, evolving into "a story about confronting life." The ending is intentionally left open to interpretation.[5][6]
    • He also commented on the scene where Blazar's face glows just before his roar: "When I saw Blazar's design, I envisioned a scene with blue flames and a wide-open roar. I used that moment to express his anger—Blazar is furious that the GGF tries to kill Demaaga in front of its child." The character who stops the final blow is acting on Blazar's will.[7]
Ultraman Blazar roars
    • In the scene where Blazar roars and knocks down missiles, the focus is on his desire to protect the child and his anger toward the humans attacking Demaaga. Koshi asked Masayuki Gotoh to animate Blazar's mouth in detail to emphasize this. Originally, the parent and child were to be consumed by a volcano via Spiral Burrade, but this was deemed too cruel. Instead, they were shown peacefully falling asleep and gently buried in the earth.[6]
Earth Garon no pupil
  • Earth Garon's eyes are drawn without pupils in this episode to contrast its nature with Demaaga's. Though both are kaiju, Earth Garon's cold, weapon-like appearance reinforces its role as a tool of the GGF.
    • Director Koshi noted that removing the pupils helped frame the GGF as antagonists and prevented the audience from sympathizing with Earth Garon.[8]
    • When Retsu witnesses this and turns away with a faint smile, it conveys a sense of "how naive." This moment wasn't scripted—actor Masaya Kato added it based on his personal interpretation of Retsu.[6]
  • The baby shown in the special TV segment that the Hiruma family watches at the beginning is actually director Koshi's second child.
  • Regarding Demaaga's role, Koshi revealed that Kiyotaka Taguchi—the series writer and main director—insisted Demaaga shouldn't appear weak.[9]
    • Taguchi had introduced Demaaga in his directorial debut on Ultraman X, making it a special kaiju to him—often referred to as "Taguchi's eldest son." Unlike its usual portrayals, Demaaga here acts only in self-defense and avoids harming humans.
    • Initially, Tsurugi Demaaga was written as Demaaga's parent, but LSS suggested reversing the roles. The concept was revised so Demaaga became the parent, with its child represented by a modified suit.[6]
    • During early development, other Earth kaiju were also considered for inclusion, such as Jirahs, Gudon, Telesdon, and Gomess.[6]
    • Originally, Baby Demaaga was planned to be 10 meters tall. However, at Taguchi's suggestion, it was changed to life-size. To help portray the creature's cuteness, suit actor Kenji Kajikawa was told to "watch cat videos" for inspiration.[6]
GGF Kaiju alert
  • The emergency alert icon displayed on Jun's tablet is a nod to the silhouette of the "Mysterious Kaiju" seen in the opening of the original Ultraman.
