PAT (Protective Attacking Team) is the defense team for the series Jumborg Ace.
Overview[]
PAT is an organization that deals with Alien Gross invasions, large-scale mutations, and anomalous events. It has branches established worldwide, with the Japanese branch situated underground near a certain mountain range. The organization boasts a range of related facilities, including the Cosmic Aerospace Research Institute, the Missile Base of the Aerospace Defense Force, and the Cosmic Defense Base.
In the series, the operational personnel of the Japanese branch are relatively few, initially comprising only four members. Other staff such as security guards, workers, and technicians are involved in various tasks within the base.

Early Members[]
Shinya Tachibana
Shinya Tachibana was the first team captain of the PAT Japan Branch and also Naoki Tachibana's older brother. During the invasion of the Alien Gross, he tragically sacrificed himself, getting hit by collapsing cliff debris while protecting a young girl from King Jaigras's attack.
He is portrayed by Toshiaki Amada.
Ryuzo Kishi
Ryuzo Kishi was the team's second captain, was known for his composed demeanor, keen judgment, and passionate, proactive approach to action.
In episode 12, he sacrificed himself in the line of duty while launching a special attack against Dead Fire.
He is portrayed by Kazumoto Ohashi .
Mamoru Hamada
Mamoru Hamada was the team's third captain, known for his cautious nature, kindness, and genuine concern for his subordinates. He showcased excellent flying skills during missions against kaiju.
Later, he left Japan to attend the PAT Captain's Conference in Europe. Since then, he hasn't appeared in the series.
He is portrayed by Tsutomu Matsukawa .

Ippei Kazama
Ippei Kazama is a newcomer who joins the team in episode 14. Prior to this, in episodes 9 and 10, he was an employee of the Ohtone Airlines, where Naoki worked, and competed with Naoki for the position of full-time pilot.
He is portrayed by Toshio Nakamura .
Kenji Oba
Kenji Oba is a newcomer who joined the team along with Kazama. Initially, he had a somewhat carefree personality and showed some immaturity in battle. However, he later developed precise judgment and was given more opportunities to shine on the battlefield.
In episode 42, he infiltrated the enemy base to rescue Naoki and Kazuya, who were captured by Satan Go-Ne and Babaras. Unfortunately, he was attacked by Babaras and died in the line of duty.
He is portrayed by Isao Setoyama .
Former SGM Members[]
Hiroshi Murakami
- Main article: Hiroshi Murakami
After the events of the previous series, Hiroshi Murakami , who previously served as the captain of SGM, was active in the African war zone. Starting from episode 32, he temporarily assumed the role of PAT team leader, overseeing the team's operations in the absence of Captain Hamada.
Subsequently, he became the fourth team leader, leading the team with his innate sense of justice and unwavering strength.
Hidehiko Yasuda

After the events of the previous series, Hidehiko Yasuda transformed from his previously timid demeanor into a calm and gentle senior member. Starting from episode 43, he participated in PAT missions as a supplementary member.
He is portrayed by Hajime Sugiyama .
Yuki Nomura
- Main article: Yuki Nomura
After the events of the previous series, Yuki Nomura had previously piloted the Jumbo Phoenix alongside Murakami to assist in PAT's support operations.
She only stayed for one episode, after the battle against Mad Go-Ne, she was presumably returned to SGM Africa base and never officially joined PAT.

Naoki Tachibana is a collaborator of PAT and sometimes serves as a temporary member of PAT.
Kyoichiro Kishi
Kyoichiro Kishi is the younger brother of Ryuzo Kishi and a member of the European branch of PAT. During his vacation back in Japan, he encountered the appearance of the Dead Fire. He teamed up with his brother Ryuzo, but tragically lost him during the mission.
Later on, he realized that the true pilot of Jumborg Ace was Naoki. However, driven by his principles as a PAT member, he piloted the Jet Falcon himself to support Jumborg Ace in defeating the monster. After his vacation ended, he returned to Europe.
He is portrayed by Nobuyuki Ishida.
Onodera
Onodera is the head of the Japanese branch of PAT. He is a determined individual who never compromises when it comes to the threat posed by the Alien Gross.
He is portrayed by Kenji Sahara.
Miyagawa
Miyakawa had once developed special bacteria to defeat the Alien Gross but was killed by the Butterfly King as a result.
He is portrayed by Yoichiro Kitagawa .

- PAT Uniform : A suit suitable for both men and women, featuring high-temperature resistance, low-temperature resistance, and bulletproof capabilities. Due to its high level of sealing, it can be used as a spacesuit for short periods of time.

Fighting Star
Fighting Star : PAT's large jet fighter. Its primary weapons include missiles and rockets. It also serves as a frontline base at the scene of countermeasure events.
The cockpit is modified based on the TAC Falcon from Ultraman Ace and shares the same model with the Sky Whale from Ultraman Taro.

Jet Condor
Jet Condor : PAT's two-seater small high-speed fighter jet, equipped with primary armaments including rockets launched from the underside of the fuselage. It boasts excellent maneuverability and rotational capabilities, while also capable of flying in space.

Hunter Q
Hunter Q : A high-performance small multi-purpose attack aircraft capable of space flight. It consists of Spacecraft 1 and Spacecraft 2 , which can be separated. This model can independently enter and exit the atmosphere and reach the moon in a short time.
Its main armaments include rocket launchers for battling monsters. Additionally, Spacecraft 1 is equipped with extinguishing devices, while Spacecraft 2 is equipped with magnetic bombs and missiles.

Vamos : A special vehicle of PAT, divided into Type I and Type II.
Type I is primarily equipped with rocket launchers, with a large propeller in the central area, giving the vehicle flight capabilities.
Type II is equipped with high-performance radar and can travel on water. It is an amphibious vehicle.
Both vehicles are based on the Honda Vamos.
PAT Vehicle
PAT Vehicle : A special-purpose vehicle used for ground patrols. While it's not armed, it boasts excellent detection capabilities. Dubbed the "Flying Tiger," it features an air cushion device installed beneath the chassis that allows for short-term flight.
The base vehicle is a Mazda Savanna.

- Due to both having suffered from heavy casualty rates, PAT was considered a predecessor of MAC, and the two are often subjected to comparison. However, the former is praised for its members' character development, their impact on the plot, as well as their relative efficiency compared to the latter.
