History[]
Pre-Ultraman Orb[]
Naomi was born in Kobe, and she is a descendant of Natasha Romanova and the Yumeno family. Due to the tradition of the Yumeno family, which only produces female offspring in each generation, Naomi is regarded as a direct descendant of the family.
During her childhood, due to ancestral memories, Naomi repeatedly dreamt about the battles between Ultraman Orb and Maga-Zetton. In search of the truth behind these dreams, Naomi developed a strong determination to uncover the truth and made it her goal.
During high school, she had a best friend named Yoko. However, before graduation, Yoko confided in her that her father did not support her dreams. Nevertheless, Naomi encouraged her with a positive attitude to pursue her own happiness and emphasized that only she could decide her own future. This strengthened Yoko's resolve to chase her dreams.
As she approached graduation from university, she befriended Jetta Hayami and Shin Matsudo. After graduating, they founded the SSP in Kitagawa-cho, Tokyo, with the aim of deciphering mysterious phenomena and uncovering the truth behind their dreams. They financed their operations by publishing current affairs news online. However, due to low income and outstanding expenses such as office rent, Naomi took on multiple part-time jobs simultaneously, shouldering the significant responsibility of supporting the organization and rallying the team. Naomi's mother, Keiko, had concerns about Naomi's steadfastness in pursuing her ideas, and thus requested her brother-in-law, Ittetsu Shibukawa, who also resided in Tokyo, to specifically look after her.
Ultraman Orb[]
Naomi is first seen with her friends investigating the strange weather patterns of the atmospheres and was saved by a mysterious giant. She later know the giant is Ultraman Orb from Jugglus Juggler. Later on, she met Juggler whom stated he liked storms. After witnessing Orb's battle with Maga-Basser, she returned Gai's Harmonica after Gai introduced himself to Naomi and her friends. The Sunset Wanderer
When buildings are mysterious reported to be sinking, Naomi went into a building that is about to sink and witnessed what Juggler was doing. Despite trying to hide herself from Jugglus, Jugglus caught her and attempted to kill her until Gai arrived to save Naomi. Naomi then ask who the two are, but Juggler told her some thing is better to not knowing it. Gai brought Naomi to safety out of building and leave it to her friends as Juggler awakens Maga-Grand King with his Kaiju Cards. Naomi later wakes up and find Orb appeared again to fight Maga-Grand King. The Lord of Earth
Naomi, with her friends and uncle went to the forest to investigate monster sightings around the lake in the forest. Later, she was chased by Maga-Jappa. However, she escapes in time by the arrival of Ultraman Orb. Naomi saw Orb for the third time as she witnessed Orb finished off the monster. She then cheered as Orb defeated the monster. Later on Gai and the SSP went to a hot spring place with her getting hit in the face while she was being given soap. Monstrous Waters
When Naomi was working part time at a job until her friends came, she complained to her friends about the extremely hot weather. She and her friends later get umbrellas to shield themselves from the hot weather and at the same time, investigating the issue. Naomi then see another sun that is caused it. She later witnessed Orb's efforts to solve the problem and brought an injuried Gai to her office for him to heal. Beware of Fire in the Midsummer Sky
She was later taken hostage by Alien Zetton Maddock, whom tricked her earlier on to investigate a new monster sighting inside a factory. Gai later came and saved Naomi from Hyper Zetton Deathscythe. After Orb defeats the said Kaiju, Naomi invited Gai to stay with them at the SSP Office as their ally. A Heart That Won't Flee
As the series progressed, through their daily interactions with Gai, Naomi found herself drawn to his unique aura, developing what seemed to be a special connection with him. However, with the presence of Jugglus Juggler, she gradually became wary and fearful of this enigmatic individual of unknown origin.
During an incident, while dressed in a zookeeper's uniform, Naomi and the members of SSP visited Kofune Manufacturing when suddenly a peculiar robot landed in the factory yard. Naomi named this robot Galactron, and after a brief analysis by Jetta, it was determined to be a righteous robot. With the approval of VTL and Shibukawa, the workers at Kofune Manufacturing began analyzing Galactron as extensively as possible.
The next day, Galactron's sensors suddenly ceased functioning and quickly regained power. It kidnapped Naomi, who was sleeping inside a vehicle, and utilized her as a voice translator. Issuing the command "Earth, like other worlds, shall be reset," Galactron vowed to cease the conflicts in this world and initiated a destructive attack. Gai and the members of SSP launched a pursuit operation to rescue Naomi, with Gai speculating that Galactron might be a robot whose creator considered it defective and subjected it to unauthorized disposal.Justice Out of Control
However, as Ultraman Orb struggled against Galactron's onslaught, witnessing the extensive destruction caused by Galactron, Gai, disregarding his own injuries, ultimately decided to use Thunder Breastar to confront Galactron. However, Naomi was still trapped inside the machine, and it was Jetta's loud shout that snapped Orb back to his senses. Yet, as Galactron counterattacked and prepared for another assault, Orb had no choice but to swiftly retaliate and ultimately defeat Galactron. In the end, Galactron was destroyed, and although Naomi survived, she suffered severe injuries and fell into a coma.
While receiving treatment at the hospital, doctors initially assessed that Naomi might remain unconscious indefinitely. However, a miraculous awakening occurred, and Naomi gradually regained consciousness and began the recovery process. However, news of Ultraman Orb inflicting serious injuries on Naomi started spreading widely in society, leading to further public criticism of Orb and consequences where VTL considered Orb as a target of attack. Meanwhile, Gai felt immense guilt and quietly departed from Naomi's side.Never Say Never
During her hospitalization, members of SSP frequently visited her, but Naomi expressed that she did not harbor any hatred towards Orb. Through her mother's explanation, she learned that her ancestors had experienced the Rusalka explosion 108 years ago.An Unforgettable Place
However, one night, as Gai's whereabouts remained unknown, Juggler intended to harm Naomi in the hospital room. Just in time, Gai appeared and saved her. Later, while taking refuge in a facility in the countryside, she revealed to Gai the background story of her family and the existence of her great-great-grandmother. They then sang the melody that Gai often played on his harmonica.
Using the ancestral heirloom, a set of Russian nesting dolls, they discovered an old photograph in the innermost layer depicting Natasha together with Gai. Gai realized that Naomi was actually a descendant of Natasha and learned that Natasha had survived the explosion. Gai then embraced Naomi and sincerely thanked her. At this moment, Naomi "saved" Orb's heart, and she wholeheartedly accepted Gai, restoring his confidence to face the challenge of Zeppandon.
During the battle, with the help of the melodious song passed down in Naomi's family, Orb regained his Orb Origin form and defeated Zeppandon. Later, when Naomi met Gai, she subtly learned about Orb's true identity as Gai. However, she chose to keep this secret, becoming an intangible bond between the two of them. The Holy Sword, Restored
In the following period, Naomi learned about her high school friend Yoko's upcoming wedding. However, when she attended Yoko's bachelorette party, she was shocked to discover that Yoko had resigned from her dream job at a hotel and found out about her fiancé's special identity. Seeing Yoko's happy marriage while feeling like she had accomplished nothing herself, Naomi couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. While passing by the sealed monument of Gurenki, she attempted to make a wish to the monument. At that moment, Gurenki sensed Naomi's deep-seated jealousy towards her best friend Yoko's impending happiness, awakened from its slumber, and appeared in a giant form before disappearing.
Naomi regretted her jealousy and decided to stop Gurenki from ruining Yoko's wedding. The next day, when Gurenki headed towards the Koyasan Kogen Hotel with the intention of causing destruction, Naomi personally intervened and confronted Gurenki during its battle with Ultraman Orb. She admitted her mistake fueled by jealousy and expressed how Gurenki had helped people fulfill their wishes in the past, especially in matters of love, in an attempt to reach out to Gurenki. Ultimately, Gurenki lost the will to fight, and Orb assisted in releasing it.
After the battle, upon learning the truth about Yoko's wedding, Gurenki and Naomi reconciled, and the two friends restored their bond to its original state. The Demon Inside of Me
Before the resurrection of Magatano-Orochi, which posed a threat to the world, Naomi once again dreamt of the fierce battle between Orb and the Maga-Zetton. However, in this dream, amidst the imminent danger as the explosion stirred up a storm, a figure swiftly carried her away from the scene, but she couldn't clearly see who it was.
Subsequently, abnormal storms appeared over the skies of Tokyo, and the underground temperature rose dramatically, with lightning-like energy continuously being channeled into the storm. With the assistance of Shibukawa, Naomi and Gai arrived at VTL headquarters and learned that VTL was attempting to destroy the birth of Magatano-Orochi using the new missile, Spiner R1.
Under Juggler's machinations, humanity, driven by fear, triggered the catalyst for disaster. With the consent of VTL's Paris headquarters, the new missile, Spiner R1, was launched into the sky and accurately hit the underground target beneath Tokyo Tower. The explosive heat was absorbed by the underground, and all the energy was transferred into the storm above. After a burst of red light, Magatano-Orochi descended from the sky.
After Ultraman Orb's defeat, Naomi went to the disaster site in search of Gai. Just as she was about to assist the heavily injured Gai, she was unexpectedly threatened by Juggler. Juggler vowed to show Gai the true meaning of hell and used the Jashin Blade to knock Naomi unconscious. The Giga Lord Monster Strikes Back
However, Naomi did not die. Juggler used her as a hostage to coerce Gai into going to a designated location, or else he would truly harm her. Gai felt anxious about Naomi's safety and reluctantly arrived at the agreed-upon square as instructed.
As the two sides reached a stalemate, Gai, amidst their arguments, continued to oppose the notion that "darkness" is eternal and firmly believed that "love" is the hopeful light that illuminates the "darkness," infuriating Juggler. Meanwhile, Naomi bravely cast aside her fear and conveyed her confidence to Gai. She expressed that although they hadn't known each other for long, the time they spent together had made her very happy. If her life couldn't be preserved, she hoped Gai wouldn't blame himself because it was her own choice.
After Naomi bravely confronted Juggler, a Z-VTOL aircraft was shot down by Magatano-Orochi and crashed towards the three of them, resulting in an immediate explosion. At that moment, Naomi realized that the mysterious person who had saved her in her dreams had a red light in the shape of a "crescent moon" on their chest, and she realized that these dreams were almost all true experiences from Natasha's past.
Amidst the chaos of the plane crash and explosion, Juggler voluntarily carried Naomi away from the disaster, making her realize that Juggler was the one who had actually saved her ancestor Natasha all those years ago. Gai believed that there was still light within Juggler's heart, and he delivered a powerful punch to him before giving Juggler a deep embrace. He entrusted Naomi's safety to Juggler and faced the battle against Magatano-Orochi himself.
Juggler was confused and remorseful about his actions over the years, which angered Naomi, and she reprimanded him. However, Naomi quickly expressed her sincere gratitude for Juggler saving her life and encouraged him to bravely stand up again. This led Juggler to join the fight alongside Ultraman Orb.
After the final battle, Gai decided to leave Japan. Naomi had known for a while that Gai came from another planet, but she had never mustered the courage to say it out loud because she was afraid he would leave.
Upon learning of Gai's decision to leave, Naomi respected his choice and watched as he gradually disappeared from sight. She optimistically believed that on this round Earth, they would eventually meet again. In the glow of the sunset, she bid farewell to Gai along with everyone else. The Wandering Sun

Trivia[]
- A running gag within the series is Naomi tripping over an object, usually to a comical effect.
- In the initial plan, Naomi did not have any blood relation to Natasha, and they were simply intended to have overlapping storylines. However, the main director, Kiyotaka Taguchi, felt that this alone was not enough to establish a connection between Naomi and Gai. Therefore, he decided to introduce the development that Natasha was actually alive, and set Naomi as her descendant, becoming the catalyst for Gai's awakening.
