NEW GENERATION THE LIVE -STARS Edition- TSUBURAYA CONVENTION 2023 SPECIAL STAGE[4] is a stage show that was held at TSUBURAYA CONVENTION 2023 and livestreamed on U-NEXT, with the archive available until February 29, 2024. It assembles nearly every protagonist of the New Generation Ultraman Series.
Synopsis
Following an explanation of the theater rules with Pigu-chan, the show is split into four parts, with the first two held at 14:00 and the latter two at 17:00. Ediom introduces each part.
The first is called Ultraman Geed: Those Who Defy Destiny and focuses on Ultraman Geed and Ultraman Z facing a group of Alien Magmas who have acquired a powerful Devil Splinter.
The second is called Ultraman Zero: Advance to the Ends of the Galaxy and is a shortened remake of Ultraman Festival 2012 Live Stage Part 1.
The third is called Ultraman Taiga: Revenge of Tregear and involves Hiroyuki Kudo and the Tri-Squad reuniting to face a cult wanting to resurrect Ultraman Tregear.
The fourth and final part is a battle featuring all of the New Generation Ultras, starting with each host individually transforming. Each group of Ultras are explained by the MC as their theme song plays and their series' title is displayed on-screen. Afterwards, each host stands with their respective Ultra for photos, and the event concludes with them giving some parting words before interacting with the audience as they exit the venue.

- Hideo Ishiguro (Gai Kurenai) and Kohshu Hirano (Haruki Natsukawa) were the only New Generation leading actors who did not attend either New Generation event at TSUBURAYA CONVENTION 2023, hence why stock footage of their transformations were shown on-screen instead. Their absence was known since August 2023, when the events were announced.[4][6] It is assumed this was due to scheduling conflicts.
- Ishiguro in particular was performing in a stage play that was being performed throughout Japan from October 2023, including performances in Sapporo on November 25 (the day of both events).[7][8] However, it was announced on November 2 that Ishiguro had gotten a stress fracture while performing and was replaced by another actor for the performances onwards from that day.[9]
- During the 12 Stars Meeting event, Takuya Negishi acknowledged that it was a shame they were unable to attend, but was thankful that so many of the actors were able to gather, believing that it must have been difficult to assemble as many as they did.
- In the Ultraman Geed part:
- The Alien Magma Boss has the same suit as Yurub.
- Geed, in Ultimate Final form, ends the battle with the finishing techniques of his other forms: Wrecking Burst, Strike Boost, Atmos Impact, Big Bustaway, before using Wrecking Nova.
- Philip and Nix Kanaya from Another Gene appear.
- As the Ultraman Zero part is a remake of the 2012 show:
- It cuts out the appearances of many characters, including Windom, Ultraman Nice, Ace, Taro, and Mebius, and lacks any Ultraseven kaiju. Dyna and Cosmos also do not speak.
- Mamoru Miyano, Kohji Moritsugu, Shintaro Asanuma (Alien Bat) and Alien Pitt's voice lines are reused from the original show, although Alien Bat has new lines at the end.
- Certain lines may have been purposely cut out to reflect Zero’s character development since then. In particular, Zero is not annoyed by his father’s lectures, thanks his comrades instead of boasting about Saga’s power, and Ultraseven does not teach him the meaning of becoming an adult.
- In the Ultraman Taiga part:
- Yuki Inoue's microphone transmitter fell out of his pocket, causing his microphone headset to slide off his face. He began to shout his lines so they could still be heard until the scene concluded and the microphone could be fixed.
- In the finale:
- Zero's voice line at the beginning is reused from Ultra Heroes EXPO 2023 Summer Festival Stage 2.
- Zero, Geed and Z are grouped together, with "Super Nova" serving as their theme song.
